Pretty cool! It lets you jump in chronological order of the specific user's posts!

You just have different contractors come and bid (see what they will charge you for the specific project). It is amazing the different range of prices you'll get for the same thing.

For example, I had a 22'x18' concrete patio bidded out this summer. Three companies total. Three different prices...had one bid $2,000, another $3,000 and $3,500.

You forget I am already in $5,500, and still have to get bathroom fixtures, tile, carpet, trim, and paint?..I will probably be in it close to $20K by the time it is all said and done.

Finally got the layout for the can lights in my family room figured out! These have whooped me all week!
    20171117_195835.jpg

Might be able to start pulling wire tomorrow and energizing some of the new circuits to make the remainder of the work more enjoyable. (Moar outlets to charge my phone while I stream music, and better lighting).

Pull Ethernet cable too so you aren’t forced to rely on WiFi signal for home theater stuff like Netflix or Plex. We use AppleTV streaming hardware and in a couple rooms it’s on WiFi and there is some buffering.

those are the exact ones I have! Im getting recessed LEDs that are dimmable.

If you put those up yourself, dont you hate working upside down?? I hate it at least on the truck. But its a good shoulder exercise

I plan to pull low voltage through 3/4" conduit to two places in the family room and one place in every other room. The conduit is a way to future proof the basement. If tech improves drastically, I can easily pull the latest and greatest wire through the conduit using the old wire! :D

Yeah, they are halo brand 6" insulation contact rated cans. I too will be putting dimmable led's in.

Yeah, I hung them myself...and it was a B-I-T-C-H!!! I only hung two with the includes nails. Then ended up switch to 3/4" wood screws in each bracket with my cordless impact. Thank goodness I made that switch, because I moved every can in the family room at least three times before I found a layout where I could get them all evenly spaced! I am sure several cans would have been destroyed had I had to pry the nails out that many times.
