I threw a pork butt in the crockpot with onion and garlic for about 8 hours, added baby red potatoes for the last 45 minutes. Then fried up some bacon ends for the grease that I cooked (carmelized) the brussel sprouts in. It turned out pretty damn awesome.

Yup. Thats why Im wanting to get this started soon. I want to get the truck paid for and in top shape in the first five years, then I can start slacking off a bit, taking it easy. Maybe pull the sleeper and cab roof cap, put a flat top cap and a flat top coffin sleeper on her, and go local. Or stretch her out and put a BIG sleeper on her and me and the wife can travel around and just park it wherever for a few days or weeks and rent a car and see some sights.
    Lots of options.
    Well, couple options anyway.

Whats the company? Lease purchase or lease on option? Where do they operate? What kinda freight do they run?
I was at Landstar before and I know I can make money there if I run where the freight is. Last time I was trying to develop a fright lane where there wasn't really one, and about the time I was getting it down George Busch decided to CowTow to the port unions and fucked us. I was so aggravated after all Id done, and I needed to either upgrade my truck (I had just bought a brand new step deck) or have a lot of work done to it. I couldn't do that trying to develop all new contacts so I just got out of it instead.
This time around I plan on doing things different, and Im to old for the flatbed game.

We don't really have that hipster thing going on. For the most part, farmers and hard working blue collar. If I could do a setup close to the house, most of my clients would be snowbirds. I could do this as a winter gig and do the property management thing in the summer. I don't think either one would get me in the Fortune 500, but it would carve out some decent play money to augment my retirements.

It would be cool to get both off the ground, turn them over to the boys and step back for a little chcken scratch. Fill in for them when they need time off.
