I felt the same way. Ordered one and almost switched it to a 4Runner after reading this forum for weeks while I waited for my truck to arrive. Glad I didn't, my 17 Tacoma has been great! No regrets.

I still can't understand why people reading the BS on TW would allow it to sway their decision on a Tacoma. Every vehicle will have issues and everyone who has an issue will scream about it more so than the people who don't have issues. If you listen to all the rhetoric from forums you would never buy a vehicle.

Just installed the SSP, GREAT Mod!
    1. Would have bought a manual DCLB if Toyota made one.
    2. Yes, I spent $200 on a gadget that mimics my right hand.
Makes the truck so much more enjoyable to drive.

If you're running larger than stock tires I guess that's decent. It's just funny, I read about guys getting better than that with Silverados that have so much more motor.

Well after going today and looking at everything I love the tacoma looks and interior. I drove the 17 again and although it did with all the wind shift at hyw speed I feel that everything has something I don't like. I test drive the new zr2 again and the tundra and silverado and f150 and ram. Wife and I definitely are decided the tundra was great which we new we have had 3 and the silverado ram and f150 also.were nice. They rode all.are better riding in the road but we both agree not near ad good to drive in city and just not as fun . Plus the r
City roads it's like u are struggling side by side on so many streets. We said it had to be another colorado canyon zr2 or tacoma. Well she likes the seat adjustability a lot better in colorado but we both like the interior and exterior much better in the tacoma. Plus we really like Toyota and the clean layout . So.hope.it arrives soon. They say now.mid to end dec

Well.i have a 16 diesel.colorado and can say it does well. I am going to the 18 tacoma. I do believe the power trains in the gmc is better both in gas and diesel. Nothing wrong with it and would get another but I like the looks and interior better in the tacoma. To me plusses and minus' s on both.

Just go drive a Canyon and you will see why. Motor is pepper, trans shifts like it is supposed to, quieter, rides better, 4 wheel disc brakes.

I was shocked when I first drove it.

I will sit back and wait for the new Ford Ranger. Saw them in England last summer and was pleasantly surprised. I hear down under in Aussie land they have a Ranger Raptor. Now that would be AWESOME.

Buy the OV tune. It makes an incredible difference even just on the 87 octane tune.

I have decided to hold on to mine- I like everything about it but the engine and trans combo. But I must say it is not that bad most of the time. I will probably get the OVtune after he perfects it a little more. And maybe wait for the new Ranger and see if it surprises me. Have also thought about going to a fullsize Ford but they are much more in price.

I've had my colorado for almost 2 yrs 49k miles. Mine is diesel and the new 8 speed gas is very nice too. I would agree that smoother more power quieter. Yes 4 wheel disc brakes. Drives great for sure. I do think.it is little harsher suspension. I also think interior looks which is in eye of beholder is nicer in tacoma. I also think exterior.looks the tacoma looks better but again that is opinion. The gm twins are nice and have no big complaints at all with mine. I wish the tacoma had its power train and adjustable seats

OV Tune is doing amazing things for the throttle mapping, but it costs $$$$.
But for free tranny help.. Have you tried using S mode and using S5? The difference at highway speeds is only 3-400 RPM and it greatly reduces the number of downshifts the truck, uhh, downshifts. I tried it one day and a 40 mile round trip drive that was mostly highway and got .6 MPG better with S5 than I did with D. Obviously that is due to wind or overall speed, but the point being, you can tweak the truck without killing your mpg's.

I generally have no complaints with the way my truck drives, I just did a 5 hour round trip drive in it and loved it.

Only thing I liked on the Canyon I drove was the motor. That 3.6 felt nice. Way better than our 3.5 if i'm honest. The rest of the GMC I just couldn't take at the price they were offering.
