Its true but really makes 0 difference. Its solid and looks great.

All the dash pieces I've pulled apart to mount switches or run wires have been solid molded.

The Vankulture grille is also solid molded.

 

90% sure second gen dashboards are painted, white plastic.

I remember several posts saying so, and pics of scratches proving such, at least. I haven’t had any alcohol yet today. Maybe my memory is fuzzy.

 

User Motorfansclub messaged me and said new stock would be in next week so you may want to hold off ordering any until that time.

 

My metal body isnt solid color either and when it gets a mark it will get touched up.Why worry about a plastic grille I say.

 

Think of it as a group buy, and lets see how low they will accept....

 

My $50 offer was rejeced immediately. I'm not an ebay expert, but I don't see why you couldn't keeping increasing by $5 or $10 increments and see where they finally accepted. Of course sometimes it takes a day to get a response on your offer, so it could take some time to figure out the bottom dollar.

 

I did that and my 3rd offer was accepted. I did $5 more each time.

 

Mine just got delivered but im at work amd it required authorization so they didnt leave it... how lame

Was your 3rd offer immediately accepted? If so sounds like they have an auto decline and auto accept setup. So say anything below $80 is declined and anything above $120 is accepted anything in between their parameters would need the seller to review. But they could have it set at $124.99/$125.

 

Ordered Sunday the 12th late at night. 25 bucks extra shipping and was supposed to be here 15th to 20th. We will see otherwise I have to try and get 25 bucks back

 

Hmm. I ordered mine on 11/14 from motorfansclub as well...but no notification yet.

When I pull up my order details it says:

Estimated delivery Thursday, Nov 16, 2017 - Tuesday, Nov 21, 2017

I wonder if it will just show up at my door or if it will be delayed.

 

I wonder if these fake pro grills would work for the '18s? Looks like they have the opening for the sensor to bolt in.

 

Mine said expected delivery 11/14 to 11/17 and is still in China. I think it will get here when it gets here. I expect it will be just before or just after Thanksgiving day. That's about an extra week over the "expected" delivery. Then again I am on the east coast. The good thing is I expect I will still have the truck then.

I am mainly worried about rigidity and correct geometry. Also, I don't know what the installation/alignment procedure is, even if I can guess that the transceiver has to be vertical and pointing straight ahead.

This might be a case where it's better to bite the bullet and buy the Toyota part. It's a little far-fetched but it would suck for sure if I got sued or had my insurance voided because I tampered with a safety system.
