The question is, can you take the sensor from a non pro grill and stick it in a pro or fauxpro grill?

It does look like it has a rectangular opening for the sensor.

On the non pro grill? The info I've seen says the sensor is in the T logo on the non-pro ones. That's why it looks glossy and smooth. It could be wrong info though.

No, the pro grill. The older SR5 and TRD grill won't work.

The Pro Grille has a Boxed in section that has no current use, sure looks like it was designed knowing the future Tacos would have TSS.

Yes. My guess is it would be fairly easy to mount the radar sensor in this location however there would need to be some tinted transparent plastic that would need to be glued in place such that the unit was protected from bugs and highway rocks but still allow the signal out. This is why you see the plastic shield on all the new emblems. My guess is it wouldnt be hard to do with a trip to home depot and some super glue.

I went to the dealer in Manhattan beach CA today. They didn't seem to know much about the 2018's at all. They had a few on their lot, and I asked about the black leather trim on the TRD Sport / OR only to have 2 sales guys and their manager tell me that it wasn't available. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

18 grill is ugly but not unbearable like the 16/17 with all that chrome. I can hold out for a while till the solution for the new grill to work with the sensor crap

Saw a 2018 today at the dealer. Definitely regular, crappy old light bulbs. (That will promptly burn out on a regular basis).

Paging @mesojdm for a nice LED solution to this problem!

There appears to be much confusion for you here. Look at a new trd or sr5 grill. It has a shiny logo with the tss sensors in it. The question is will one be able to move the sensor from that shiny logo into whatever the trdpro grill has and have it work. There has been zero mention of the old trd/sr5 grill.

The older TRD Pro grill has a opening below the lettering on the back of the grill that looks like you may be able to mount the sensor. We won't know for sure until someone messes with their '18 which will probably be fairly soon because of the hate people seem to have with it.

Bummer So by Led rear light they must have just meant the bed light which I believe is already Led in the 2016 and 2017s. Oh well....
