This is one of my dad's favorite beers! I'm not normally an IPA guy, but I do like Sierra Nevada. I also enjoy Founders All Day IPA and Lagunitas IPA.

As many TW members know, I work as a barback at a bar/restaurant/music venue. One of the many benefits of working at a bar is the free alcohol! Sometimes, this comes in the form of a draft on the house when you come to your own bar on your day off or go to another bar where they know you. Sometimes, your general manager overestimates how popular a very specific locally-brewed beer is and has two cases of said beer left in the walk-in. You (meaning me) casually mention to her that that's one of your favorite beers and your friend is having a housewarming party soon. She hands you the two unopened cases, knowing they will just sit there for months and take up valuable space in the cooler otherwise...

And in the case of these 5 beers, beer reps will come through trying to sell a new product, and they leave samples. Sometimes, your general sticks them in the back of the fridge for later and forgets about them for several weeks. She eventually finds the forgotten beer while clearing out the fridge. Since these are individual samples and not part of a larger case, I'm pretty sure we can't legally sell them per PA law. The general manager casually asks "Charlie, do you want any of these?"

Well, one thing you learn working in the bar business is that the best kind of alcohol is free alcohol! My boss let me take all five of them, and both cans were consumed in rapid succession while I was building my LEGO Volkswagen camper. I've been told that cans don't stay fresh as long as the traditional glass bottles, so I drank them first...

    IMG_0488.jpg IMG_0489.jpg
The two cans, which I drank first...
    IMG_0493.jpg IMG_0494.jpg

    I've always enjoyed Troegg's products...
    IMG_0490.jpg

This beer was good, but also probably my least favorite; It says it is "tart." This is NOT a a lie...
    IMG_0491.jpg

And another IPA; As I've said before I am not an IPA guy but there are a few I do like. I liked this one and would drink it again if given the chance...

You ever had Founders All Day IPA? I call it the "Grand Wagoneer Beer" because of the vehicle featured prominently on the label...

Meh. Over rated and sellouts. Not worth the trouble for me to try and find one. But if @DrFunker happens to land on some extras I won't say no :D

Agreed for the most part. I'll pick up a couple and call it done. People go absolutely ape shit here for it. There'll be armies of whining shit balls lining up hours before and then driving all over town to get their limit at every store. Can't wait for the FB haul pics

I'm glad I'm off so I don't have to deal with them

    2013?

    I’d drink it.

Last one I tried was really syrupy and had a hot alcohol burn but I bet after a few years it’d mellow pretty well.

Generally I’m not a huge fan of bourbon aged beers. To me they tend to be really good for four ounces then I have to suffer the rest of the bottle. And all the goods ones come in bombers....

So when it comes to the style I don’t buy them but I will help my friends drink theirs:D

This is my struggle. I have so many BBA bottles and can't drink them myself. And I don't have any friends who really enjoy a good beer so they just sit forever haha.
