Curious, why the Hilift and a come along?

 

I am a firm believer of "better to have and not need,than to need and not have" I also subscribe to the one is none and two is one philosophy. You never know what you might encounter,best to be prepared for whatever situation might arise.
Never know when you might find yourself in a situation that you need to use your winch to pull you forward but also need something to keep the struck from sliding sideway's

Hey guys. Anyone else broke off the torx screws trying to take them off to install the front bed rail?

What now, drill out the stuck screw?

Stopped at two. Figured they would be easy to take off with the right tools.

Google how to use an easy out OR broken screw removal. I'm sure that is a video dealing with this somewhere. Basically if I were removing it I would use a center or prick punch and carefully put a dimple in the center of the screw body. Follow that with a small center drill to keep the drill from walking away from center. Follow that with a drill for the appropriate size easy out you'll use. You'll need a T-handle for the easy out. The trick to the whole deal is to keep the drill and easy out small enough and the hole centered so as not to damage the threads in the threaded hole. Easy enough to do with the right tools and reasonable care.

 

Try a pair of needle nose vice grips. Not sure how much of the screw or bolt is still sticking out?? Or use a left handed drill bit to remove after punching a center hole and the drilling a small pilot hole for left handed bit.
