    They're FINALLY working on putting doors/trim/baseboards in 2 weeks late. So close to having my damn house back to normal. Ordered the flooring for the garage apartment this weekend as well so I'm hoping they will get it all done before Thanksgiving. Probably not but it would be nice!

    It's a really nice day today and our original plans canceled so the Runner is getting some attention finally.

    Thanks! I honestly am kind of glad I lost my job because if I hadn't been home to ride these guys asses like a full time job I feel like it wouldn't even be half as far along as it is. I've been probably the most insufferable person possible to try and keep them on schedule. They're rushing right now to finish it to my liking as well because I refused to pay them until its done.

    Our original contract stated the work would be done in 30 days and I would pay after the work was done. It's not done. I'm not paying until it is and I'm 100% happy with it since generally once contractors get their money they are impossible to get anything out of.

    Excellent. they too want to get paid, likely before Thanksgiving/Christmas as well. A shame you need to push like that to get anything done but that is the way of the world today. And once they leave, they are gone. Period.

    So my first turkey smoke came out great. Smoked for 10 hours, at 235-250°F, 12.17lb turkey, internal temp 183°F. Defrosted it in the brine for a few days. Rubbed it with 2 sticks of butter and rubbed on some mixed seasoning from Joe's BBQ. Came it better than I could have hoped for.
