Ive been a member of The Caledonian Club of SF since I was 16. I have been to most of the California Scottish Highland gathering and games. Haggis is a good, hearty meal if properly prepared. Ill eat it out of a can any day of the week over that spotted dick in a can crap...

Charles Manson is dead. He was one twisted up dude.
I've only had it once. Didn't think it was all that bad.

But personally? I'd rather have the Scottish Baked goods.

Hey y'all, starting get the itinerary ready for my Yosemite trip. Was hoping to get some information from the locals.

First, we're going in the beginning of January with the hopes of getting to drive through some snow. It looks like they plow roads somewhat but I want to see Yosemite in the winter, top of my bucket list for sure. Was wondering how camping was? Would a space heater and a tent be enough? Bears? Any tips y'all have? I have a pop up but seriously don't want to drag it across the country with my lil' Taco..

We're also looking for some more scenic routes, maybe even off road? We're deciding whether to go through Flagstaff or Vegas on the way up, probably go south on the way back to do some wheeling in Sedona.

Any trails we should stop by along the way? I'm confident behind the wheel of my truck but we're probably going to have a stock 4Runner with us, 4WD rear locker but street tires. I'd like some trails that I can take more gnarly lines if possible.. Honestly if anyone wants to meet up and wheel i'm happy to be shown around. There's a chance it might just be myself and a buddy riding shotgun, but we're going regardless! We we're talking about hitting up Rubicon but it just seems a little to out of the way
Last off, any must see spots? Eats? Dispensaries? Bars?:rasta:

Lookin' to get as much info as I can before driving all the way from Lubbock, Texas

    Good question for @Cuffs

I will say camping in the valley and waking up to fresh snow on the ground is amazing. I’m glad i got to do that a couple of years ago. Need to make a winter trip again.

I'll hit all y'all when an invite when we decide what days we're staying in California! Probably two in Yosemite and one in Sierra National Forest where i've heard there's some good wheeling. So freakin' excited to camp in snow, will be a new thing for me.

Yosemite is best in winter. The driving is generally fine. Just slow down or you might end up in the ditch. Especially if the temps hover around freezing.

Most Valley locations are still accessible. Wawona is also open and worth seeing.

Forget the Rubicon. It will be buried in snow.

    Sounds like a fun trip.

Make sure to come up the west side of the Sierras. 120/108/4 will all be closed so you’ll either have to come over 88 and back down or turn around and go south around the Tehachapi’s (which is probably the way you should come up).

in Jan. good luck wheeling in the sierra's. CA closes just abut everything after it gets wet. Plus snow. The Rubicon will most likely be deep with snow by then. as for Yosemite cuffs is the one to talk to for sure.

Depending on how close he gets, he could do MET or UTC, right?

I wouldn't suggest anything winter related on street tires and not being in a group. he will be with a stock runner on street tires. they would be better off wheeling in NV or Utah or Arizona that he metioned above then being another victim of the sierra's following a GPS. although MET is crowded as fuck these days it still seems to happen all the time.

So this weekend when to Sac left my car keys in my Ram and someone broke in took my keys and other belongings. Does anyone know if I can get that key fob deactivated without having the truck? I had to leave it at my cousins and drive my Yota to the bay.

Avoid wheeling in the sierras, noted. Any routes y'all would recommend from Vegas into Yosemite?

If it's like a ford, they need the vehicle to erase the key programs from the module. Also, if it's like a ford, you'll have to have 2 other keys. Can't just delete one. Have to delete all, then will need to program a minimum of 2 keys. So you may have to buy another key. Fantastic Sac.
