Hey everyone, I'm going to be looking at a 2013 Limited 4x4 this coming week. Wondering what I should look for. It has 48k miles and the site shows it to be a 1 owner, im thinking it was a lease. Let me know what i should look for, it looks like the 4.0 w/ the 5 speed is a pretty good combo? Let me know and thank you!

Best year to be honest among the 12'-15' Tacomas. Not missing the compass, outside temp, clock, smog pump issues, etc... like the 12', 14', and 15' tend to miss a few of each depending on the year.

I have a 2013 since new no major issues. My only problems have been the rear parking brake housing cracking & a seized alignment cam adjuster on my lca's. I live in the North East with major salt so I had my frame treated before I drove off the lot & do yearly fluid film applications. Also I added an additional leaf AAL when I got the stock spring pack rebuilt at 70k. The stock springs will sag if you do any load bearing or add a cap, tow. It's a shame but is what it is. Love my truck 75k just breaking in

Nice, love my 13 TRD Sport 4x4, got 45k no problems. I would pay for an independent inspection, really crawl around the frame check for possible rust issues ECT. Good luck!

I've got a 13 limited and I love it. Heated seats, navigation (even though not that impressive), and the longbed are my favorite things about the truck. I also really like the clock in the dash, it's a toyota thing. What I really don't like about it is the fake plastic chrome, but that can be changed. Good luck with the purchase.

As far as what to look for. I would say look for maintenance records. If it was a lease you should be able to find the records with toyota. Does it have a lift or bigger tires on it?

Thanks for the reply, the truck looks completely stock from the photos on the website. Possibly an older mans truck that was taken very well care of? :D

Who cares if it was a lease? What matters is maintenance history. Is it available?

If it's lived in salt country, a serious undercarriage inspection is in order.

'13 is the best all around year IMHO. Yes, I have one, but I 'stumbled' on it. Wasn't shopping for a '13 in particular, but now that I know more I'm glad it's what I found.

And yes, price matters. Don't be pillaged. The 'Toyota tax' is real. But if folks quit paying crazy prices, the tax will fall.

    They're asking 27,500 for it.

Way high IMHO. It's listed high so they can allow someone much more for their trade in, but still. It's 5 yrs old w/avg mileage.

You can find new SRs for very close to that. Meaning that's a lot of coin for some gee whiz gadgets.

I own the same truck you are looking at. It's been solid. It's the best midsize truck on the market I would say. I've taken it on the beach dozens of times, have used it as a weekend warrior between home depot and home, and it;s great in the snow. Kinda of a no brainer. Are they flexible at all on price, though 27.5k is a solid price for that truck around my parts.

That truck would sell all day long at 27.5 around here.

Im going to be trying to get them to come down some, right now its getting transported to them as its in another state. The online photos look good but you know how that goes. they're also going to get me maintenance information on it as well as put it on the lid and let me look all through it. It does look like a really nice truck. Also how are the seats in them, there the softex, do you like them?

I like real leather better, but the softex is good as well. I have kids, so spilled drinks and shit like that is easy off. The seats overall are comfy. Send the link of the truck.

Where in New England? Brine use in Vermont has really upped the rust issue. Not sure what other states in the region do so it's good you're on top of that. Good luck with your purchase sounds like a nice truck!
