I recently replaced the fuel injectors in my 2000 2.7 and one of the four black, plastic grommets that the rail mounting bolts go through fell into the engine area never to be found again. I can't find these items on the parts schematic anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm using washers and things have been fine but I'd rather install the right part.

No, I think he's asking about the spacer that goes on the fuel rail bolt. It's not shown on the fuel injection system diagram. Who's that Toyota parts guy on here?

Yes, there are two black grommets per bolt that keep the rail in place. One of them is a gonner.

It might be easier to find the missing part than find the part number.

You have no idea how long I looked for that damn thing. Two hours at least.

Nope. But thanks. That's the only image I've been able to find. The grommets actually go around the bolt (on top and bottom of rail) that you can barely see in the upper left of the pic.

When I loose a nut/bolt or other part like this I'll take a break and look for it later or the next day. Sometimes a fresh mind helps rethink where it could have fallen.

Did you hear it fall? Could it have hit the ground and rolled away?

Did you check all crevices like by the starter?

Trust me. I looked everywhere except one place. And I'm sure that's where it is.
