Do you still have the original mounts? If you do can you line them up and take a picture?

The mechanic said he did not use any torque specs cuz of the sleeves. However this logic doesn't jive with me as any number of things could affect the outcome, especially on a 15, no 16 year old truck. I so wish I had the wherewithal (setup) to do this on my own. I have done things that did not involve ancient rusty bolts. & maybe I wouldn't have done it perfect, however at least I wouldn't have to figure out how much of the fault the mechanic owns. Dislike conflict so much.... & thanks. I'll check your thread out.

4244 are for 2nd position middle. 4246 is for 3rd position next to bed. The mounts are installed in the wrong position.

No. I forgot to ask for the remains. I can tell you this though, the bottom bushings were virtually non existent (1/4 in -less), so I am not sure they would have helped much.

Ok so they do provide a diagram and the size needed. Looks like the mechanic didn't bother with it.

He put it all together and did not pay attention to the different parts or numbers. I would be pissed.

    @Kristi with a K

I just went through and read it to refresh my own memory to see if I could remember something that could/would help you.

I remember the bushings have the part number stamped on the side of it so you would know what bushing goes where in relation to the truck mounts. Also, the sleeves are all different sizes as well- so essentially you need to just go in height succession- again, relationally to where they are installed on the truck. Not getting these right, or having the right kit, could result in what you're seeing with body placement being off in relation to the bed.

Not torquing these right (due to over-torquing)- I believe- would cause the body to be lower than the bed when resting on a level surface.

I have had 0 problems with Energy Suspension products, and I'd absolutely put them in if I did it all over again. I ordered the "Master Kit" and used their whole kit on my truck and have been very pleased.

It would be hard to say exactly what the issue is without going through, taking them all out and completely re-installing a "new" kit. Honestly, if you aren't happy with it, that's probably what I'd do.

I don't know where you're located, but if it was somewhere close to Houston, TX I'd help you do it myself. :notsure:

    **EDIT**

    This.

What @36tacundra posted is EXACTLY what I was referring to. You don't look at the diagram (i.e. don't use the right pieces/parts where they should be) then you'll have problems.

Good looking out with that pic.

Been working on putting a coat of enamel rust preventative stuff on it. Doing a little here & there. I should just get to it & make it happen.

Not sure exactly how thick it should be, however the same mechanic that improperly installed these said there was little to no rust where the old mounts were. I had asked if while he was in there if he would give it a coat of something rust proofy....

So am I correct in thinking that sleeve or no sleeve one would still use a torque wrench? I mean it can't hurt, however that's not really what I am getting at, so much as it is the smart, wise, obsessive thing to do.... I would have had I done this myself, however I have OCD. I guess what I'm getting at is should the mechanic have done this regardless of the sleeves even if he's not obsessive?

The guy should have taken time to look at the parts and make sure it was installed correctly. That is what they are payed for.
