Local warehouses buy truckloads of returned items from Amazon, Sam's, Costco, Walmart, etc. They go on the website & people bid on the price. You have set days that you HAVE to pick the item up or you're out the money. No guarantees anything works but they do their best for a description & pictures of the condition.

You get hit with a 17% fee & sales tax over what your final bid is. That's how they make their money.

    I sure do!
Have about 10 or so. Been a while since I picked one up. The last one I got was a Christmas gift, vintage yet in near mint condition. Think I found my unicorn and gave up haha!

Picked up one made in L'ville even. Have 2 that came off the Ironton-Russell bridge from well into 1950's or older. And one RR lantern, they're the harder (read as expensive) to find.

What type of refrigerant does it use?
    2nd question...any idea where it's leaking?
3rd...does it have service ports? (Schraeder valves) Coils can be a bitch to repair. I may be able to repair. Maybe not.

I've got 2 Dietz railroad lanterns from the old L&N railroad. If my moron friend with the Jeep Xj ever goes with us, I'll introduce you to a Dietz from the lantern family.

Not a RICH member of the clan though...

Had the opportunity to get a Dietz RR for $80. Passed on it and I should've bought it.

The leak is right where the line connects but is a decent size hole. It doesn't have any service ports but I have a bullet valve & an adapter to refill it with R-134a refrigerant. I just lack the skills & patience to repair it myself.

The leak is towards the bottom middle of the 2nd picture, behind the fan.

    Hello All!
I moved down to Cincinnati at the beginning of the year but have spent most of my time away (army) so still don't know the area exceedingly well. I bought a family friend's tacoma a couple of weeks ago (16 DCSB Limited) and was wondering if you all had any recommendations for shops or dealers down here that you had dealt with. I would eventually like to add a small lift (still debating what I want to do there) and I want to put a cap on it as well. Any help you could offer would be great, thanks!

I can probably fix the leak. I've got a vacuum pump. Also have 30lbs 134a.

Kinda bummed, as I was going to drive the taco up there from Birmingham...have us a little adventure together. Then I got to thinking about the million bits of squeaks, creaks, clicking, and...stuff. And the fact that it doesn't have a spare.

I changed plans and am going to ship the truck and drive the Bim up there instead. Doesn't look like it will be snowing on Thursday...:fingerscrossed:

Speaking of which, what should I be expecting to shell out for a good undercoat? $250? $400?
