    And steelies!

I've seen a few of the Mexican Ford Rangers, but not Hiluxes. Ironically I've caught some 1st gen Tacomas with Mexican plates...unsure whether they started life in Mexico of ended up there through some nefarious means.

I wonder how difficult it would be to go south and import an old Diesel Hilux into the states. I love seeing them whenever we travel down there.

There are diesel Land Cruisers from South America that come to Cars and Coffee, so I can't imagine it would be that bad.

Does anyone in here have insurance that covers them offroad? If so can you give me the info? I'm with Farmer's and I'm 99% sure if I flop that I'm fucked.

I'm still declared a dependent so idk how useful I'll be, my parents just charge me what my monthly rate is and I pay them instead. We have Geico, though, and when I flipped the fuck out of my old Tundra we were covered

I'm on a policy with my Mom and I but everyone keeps saying I'm going to flop it eventually(such confidence in me I know)so I want to know what my options are BEFORE I need it.

If it's 25 years old when you bring it into the country you are good. And by that I mean that if you bring it in during the month of July of next year then the birthdate on the title has to be dated before July, 1993. Bring your bill of sale, proof of insurance, and the normal I.D. required to cross. You can fill out the importation papers there at the checkpoint or download them before hand and get started to speed the process up. Just know that Australian and Latin American trucks get used. So if you want an excellent example I'd suggest looking to Japan as your source country.

I have an "Agreed upon replacement value" policy with State Farm. Ive showed them receipts and then agreed upon the value of the truck. I don't know if other carriers offer similar policies but it might be worth looking into.

The value isnt so much an issue as I can scavenge it for my parts if need be. Just more interested in if I roll it or have severe damage while wheeling at hidden falls or any other offroad park will I be covered under my comprehensive side of the policy without having to try and do some insurance fraud type of thing.

If you walk that line of your vehicle truly being at its limits it'll happen eventually. My roommates dad and his dads best friend are 30 year Jeep Jambo staff vets and they say it's like tipping a motorcycle, it's coming whether your fault or not.

Luckily, both times I've actually tipped the Taco I was caught by a tree/rock. Got battle scars but worse than flipping

It's hard to call and ask if you're covered for something like that cause I feel like their reaction would be "w8 wut??"
