I have heard to many different variations to know what is the truth. I want to be able to get the full lift out of my new Coilovers and cant because I dont have Manual locking hubs! If i purchase the stuff to put in locking hubs will I be able to get the full 3" lift or will 2" be the maximum? Dont want to ruin my cv joints!

Get a front diff drop. It drops the front diff to allign your front axle shafts.

I saw this before and I was told that could mke the problem worse because it is not a true 1 inch diff. drop. This is new to me and I dont want to damage my cv joints after like 200 miles or so. Does anyone have the diff. drop on their taco? Thanks alot.

Do some more research about the diff drop.

Converting to manual hubs is far more complex and more expensive. The only thing a manual hub conversion will do for you, is prevent the axle shafts from spinning when they're unlocked. That's it. The shafts will still be at an extreme angle and when you LOCK the hubs - your shafts will be operating at an extreme angle.

I've got both a 3" lift with a diff drop kit and manual hubs on my truck and I do offroad time to time, my cvs are still alive and well. But I got the ddk with my lift.

I've got the 3" ToyTech coil spacer lift with the 1" diff drop. It's been on for almost 5 years now and my CV boots still look good. No cracks, splits, or tears... I check them regularly b/c I also feared this problem. I'm still running the factory auto hubs...

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Shim kit goes on the rear axle. If you lift the rear and experience drivelin vibs, then put the shims between the axle and leafs. They should be 3° shims IIRC.

    Canada Eh!
The diff drop kits arent a true 1 inch. Due to the limitation of the steering rack and crossmember being where it is the diff can only really pivot since it is also attached to the crossmember with a bushing on the back side. I does drop it a tiny bit. I have the kit and the toytec ultimate lift (2.5" ish). I just discovered my driver side boot has a small tear and has started puking grease :(

4" lift after market front bumper bed mount lightbar/roll bar (4)6" kc's on the roll bar (2) kc flat back bumper mounts f/r gears for the 33's
If you can do hubs then it will prolong the life of the cvs and they wont be spinning at 70 mph when you are on the highway. You'll just have to lock them when wanting 4 wheel drive.
