First time cap shopper looking for some input. Up here in Canada these things are pretty expensive, I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few options.

I’m mainly between the leer 100R and 100XR. The best quote I’ve got on the R is $1899 base model and the RX is $2200 base model. As far as I can tell, the only diffwrence between the two is framed vs frameless rear window?

So question is, my gut says go for the cheaper option and phoney up for a flip down front slider, and add windoors and roof tracks after the fact if I think they’re necessary. Any input on that thought process from people who’ve had or seen both?

Also not oppposed to ARE (would probably be V or CX), but it seems prices on ARE are nuts here

Just wondering where in Canada you are located?
I'm near Buffalo, NY. The price for a V series ARE is $1400, CX goes for $1565 installed at a local dealer that has been in the business for 40 years.

I’m very close, in Ontario (Hamilton), just an hour away.

I didn’t get any local quotes for the V series, I gave up after my two Z series quotes came back at $4800 and $6800 lol.

A base 100XR Leer is $2300 plus tax here, the 100R is $1899. So with the exchange roughly $1725 and $1425 American respectively.

Get the carpeted interior for sure. Also if you ever want to put anything on top get the tracks factory installed so you don't void the warranty.

Check out raidercaps.com and centurycaps.com. Same shells as Leer, made in the same factory. Gives you some more options when shopping around.
