How many mpgs did you lose when you stepped up to the 285s? :blahblah:

Got these in today! Gonna mount them up using some steel flat bar and angle this weekend. Theyre mud flaps for the fj40 & fj60s

    Thanks brother!

The fronts are gonna be a little harder to figure out how to mount than the backs since i want to make them work with future 285s, but ive already got a couple ideas as to how im gonna go about mounting those up. I guess only time will tell if i can get it all to cooperate.

    Props for the DIY!!!
Hey, do you know if you have to take out the wheel well liners if you remove the fender flares?

Like, to run with no flares...

Hmmm.. im not 100% sure, but i think the clips that are holding in the wheel well liners also hold on the fender flares. Im about 95% sure that you can remove the flares and keep the liners, because the nylon grommets that clip into place and hold the fender liners are what the flares use screws to attach to. So if you want to run no flares but leave the liners, im pretty sure youre good to go..

Not sure why I want to take the flares off lately. Probably end up doing bushwackers at some point.

Go put one of those flaps up the the fender and take a pic

Heres a pic of the nylon grommets that clip onto the actual metal bedsides/fenders. Those hold the fender liners in place, and then they have a screw hole on the other side that utilize screws to help hold the flares in place too. The flares are actually mainly held on though by orange and blue clips.. hope this helps some. The second picture on the left side shows how the liners are held onto the fender itself. They provide more attachment points for the flares as well as oem mud flaps

I was also considering bushwackers but i didnt want to drill holes in my fenders since the bolts dont line up with the oem ones. I personally like the look of the black flares, but id just get some off of a base model if i didnt already have black ones. That way they all line up and are easy to install, and completely reversible. After going out there to take a pic, im considering just notching the bottom part of my flare and trying to use some of the stock mounting points.. not sure which way i wanna go yet. I was thinking about running a piece of flat bar and welding a piece of angle at a 90 degree angle and putting them on that. But itd look much cleaner if i could get em close to the factory mounts

I was mesmerized by them when i was a little fella. My uncle lives out in east tx and farms so i guess thats how i got into them. Hes got the ones with ac, heat, radio, and hydrostatic drive. Theyve changed quite a bit over the years, but I really like the old tricycle style tractors. Those are classic af!
