I've cut just not that much, how much of that was "really" needed to fit the 34's, that is the next size I am going to. I don't have to worry about the fenders anymore, so my only obstacle is the CMC

I probably didn't need to cut that much for 34's, but I did anyway incase I decide to get 35's one day. One could probably not lop off the end like I did and be fine. I didn't have time to flex and check clearances, I can try to get pics tomorrow.

I did a little more trimming since this pic but have yet to go full blown... I have 285/70r17 now and have a fair about of room in there... but the BFG 34's are calling me, now that I went fiberglass..... upload_2016-1-4_18-41-45.jpg

I don't think they realize that OP is talking about 285/75/17s and not 285/70/17s & 285/75/16s

That's what I think too . This is turning into one of the hundreds of 33" tire threads.

I flexed the front today to check clearance, I need to cut the bottom of the flare and fender, and the TJM bumper. I couldn't get to the top of the ramp but it wasn't much higher anyway. My wheels are 4.1" b.s. and my caster is maxed without sacrificing camber. It looked like I had 1-1.5" of up travel left. Right now it is fine for daily driving.

Awesome, I figure with My Fiberglass fenders and the Demello bumper I should be fine..

Nice truck, this spindles probably helped you clear them. Bring that ass up a tad and I would say you've won! Have any vibes at all?

Camber is at 0, Toe is at 0, and Caster ~+2.5, I am going back to the alignment shop soon so I can get some more caster.

Thanks! I love the tires. The Nittos ride a lot better than the BFG's I replaced. 4.56 gears are going in soon. Probly skids and sliders eventually but not much else for a while. I have my '87 4Runner for hardcore wheeling.

I know it's an old thread but how have the 34s worked out? I want to go 285/75/17 and I'm trying to figure out if I'll need to chop my fenders. I'm ok with a cmc and flattening a pinch weld. I just don't think I can make a clean enough cut in the wheel well to look good.

I trimmed the lower inside edge of my front flares and fenders, the fender liner, hammered the pinch weld flat, and CMC. You don’t have to cut the entire fender. If it rubs the tops of the flares and you don’t want to cut them, you can use wheelers bumpstops with spacers or make spacers for the factory bumpstops to limit up-travel. All of my tires rub the tops of the flares, but it’s not enough to worry about.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of getting new tires in a few months. That sound be long enough to make sure they'll fit. What lift do you have up front? I'm on billies at "0" and 886s.
