If you've never tried the 45 degree slanted cheek well, you will love it over the traditional stocks.

I have some of their accessories and it's on par with magpul stuff as far as construction (fiber reinforced polymer), but the key to mags is the followers. I've seen a lot of guys get hex mags or promags and have failures or spotty reliability at best. Other guys run them with no problem, so go figure. At $8, I'd wait for PSA to have their sales later this week and pick up Pmags for $10 each (possibly cheaper). Just my $.02

Anyone familiar with gas block risers? I have an AR pistol with a Rock River upper and the gas block has a short pic rail on it that sits below the plane of the other pic rail. I've had a set of Magpul Pro flip-up sights for awhile but need to get a riser for them to be useful. Are those risers a standard height or do I need to find one specific to the RR upper that I have?

You would need to measure how much of a rise you need. i want to say some are 1/2" and some are 3/8". Then you just buy a riser in that height. If you have a good gun store around might call and see if they carry the risers then just take the upper with you and have them help ya out.

The magpul pro should be fine since they are steel. Just dont put any plastic sights (like the regular magpul flip up) on the gas block or riser.

Yup, they'll melt which is why I bought the metal ones. Twice as much, but necessary for what I was planning for them.

Thanks, I'll have to measure and see which riser height I need. I'm still fairly new to all this and my other ARs either have the standard A1 type front sight or I built it so that it was flat all the way across the top.

Sounds like my kinda day. Hopefully it's nice this week. Currently beautiful in Michigan right now. Fall days are my favorite days. I couldn't help but go to the range yesterday as soon as I looked out my window.

I went on Sunday and it was bitter cold, but to master one's self you must master you're environment and zombies don't care if it's cold out LOL! Really gonna have to focus on functional cold weather gear. I find Underarmor to be pretty effective on colder days, but it's my hands that get effected the worse. Man do I like this AR9 though. The fact that it performed flawlessly on a bitter cold windy day it's first run has really given me a lot of love for the AR platform. Before that I've always used AKs. Already working on AR build number two. I may have to try one of those LaRue stocks you got there. Looks really solid.

Debating on purchasing a complete ar (not 100% on which brand) or build one. Thoughts?

Already making me think of Thanksgiving. I love those days. Cooking, eating, and drinking. No work worries. Can't wait!

Yeah, the AR9 is sweet, do it! Excellent home defense gun. It's a blast to shoot too.

I keep saying I'm going to get a smoker but haven't pulled the trigger yet, keep buying other shit instead. Was thinking of putting one on my Christmas list but leaning towards an EO Tech now.

A lot easier and cheaper I think to buy a complete, but I like building them. You really get to know your firearm when you build it. It's a win win though. Complete you're just done and you know it's gonna work for the most part.
