Same story for me too. I bought a brand new 17' Tacoma (first new car purchase I've ever made) and loved everything about this truck
except the motor and transmission. The motor is a gutless wonder. I owned a Frontier for years before trading it in to get the Tacoma and
the Nissan felt like a Tundra compared to the Tacoma. After less than a year driving the Tacoma I realized that I made a bad decision and
was never going to be happy with this dog of a motor. I had taken it in for a scheduled service at my dealer and told them I wasn't happy with the truck and I knew from their website that they had a 15' Tundra 4x4 Certified pre-owned with hardly any miles on it on the lot. So they busted out the KY, bent me over and said "let's make a deal". No....but I did take a minor loss but it was worth it for me because I love the Tundra. I love the V8 and don't mind the lesser gas mileage. Here's my before and after pics.......

OP, I have had vehicles I did not like and lost my confidence as well. I did what you did, trade it for - GASP - something you want - novel idea huh? I'm glad you like the Tundra, nice truck and hope it works out for you. My post is aimed at the folks who come or more likely came here to bitch and bitch and bitch, but not do a damn thing about it. Personally, I LOVE my Tacoma and it has been perfect for me!!

    Cheers,

$3600 a year and if gas goes back to its high it will be $7200. In 5 years that's $36000 difference. Things will change big time for full size if a gulf war breaks out or whatever. All good right now but pendelums swing.

Congrats on the Tundra. I actually did the opposite.

I bought a Tundra Platinum and after living with it for a weekend decided I could not live with it. It was just too damn big and thirsty, but it was a beautiful truck. Very comfortable and the drivetrain is really great. I always looked at full size trucks and decided I wanted to give one a try, but it wasn't just for me. If I had a need for one the Tundra would be the choice but I simply didn't.

My longtime dealer took it back and got me into my second tacoma I bought from them. It's not perfect, but it is exactly what I wanted.

    Enjoy the Tundra!

Good luck with the new truck. I did the same(similar) swap and went back to a full size. Just could not get passed the issues the truck had and that would never get better(low tourqe, squeks and rattles). I went with an F150 EcoBeast. Gotta say I was never really a V6 kinda guy, but eating V8's for lunch and dinner is a hoot.

Will never understand why guys come here to talk about how great their new truck is and how much the Tacoma sucks. News flash for you... this is Tacoma World and no one cares about your F-150, 250, Tundra, Ram, or whatever else you traded your Tacoma for.

I think others have screwed it for you. It's an open forum not public. You are with Tacoma people. You can call that a newsflash for you. Everthing will be alright. I would like you to stay as well.
