    I looked at the builds yesterday.. biggest thing I saw is the JBL looked like it was on the LMTD but not an option on the O/R or Sport. When I did the Lmtd build, it did not show any possible packages. Much like the Pro last year, you can add some items, but no packages.

    That may have been a region or current inventory thing, so I would not swear to it.

    I was wondering the same. Not much of a case for a limited trim these days...

    I just confirmed on the build page, you are correct. JBL is an option for the Sport and OR. There were very few Sport configuration options yesterday in my region, 2 as I recall. Today there are 8 Sport configurations, only a couple chioces that show the package with JBL. It must be a current regional inventory allocation. :rolleyes:

    For example, right now a 4x2 Sport long bed only offers the XP Rockstar package. The 4x4 Sport SBAT offers Sport premium, Tech, and XP Rockstar packages. :notsure:

    Really shows that you can not truely order any config you want but only pick from allocated future builds.

    The Limited also has that horrendous looking interior too, would be hard to ever make a case for it.

    You are absolutely correct. In an allocation based ordering system you do not get to custom order a vehicle just for you. You have to one find a dealer with open allocation and two hope they are able to match your desired truck with an allocation offering from your region that matches or matches closely to what you asked for.

    What modifications are in store? As far as I know, you're the first one to report having actually brought one home.

    Just very little stuff. Like a ball and a hook hitch, maybe the Rough Country light bar (though the hi beams are AMAZING), switch most of the bulbs to LEDs. I’ll keep small tools and a med bag in the truck. My old vehicle was a 06 Scion xA, and it was my modding vehicle. I did springs, coils, air ride, 7 different systems, all the fun bolt ons, etc. I love just driving in this luxury now lol. Plus I own a 58 Chevy Apache and it’s my hotrod.

    I’m 99% sure that I was the first person in Gulf States to buy one. Mine is paid off, which I love! And insurance isn’t a killer lol.

    Another update on 2018 TRD Sport 6MT (7543) that I put a deposit down on in August. Was last told we were looking to get it in around late Nov to mid Dec. Got a call from the salesman today to tell me now it's looking more like late Jan to mid Feb. He tells me in his 4 years there, this will only be his 2nd Tacoma he's sold with the MT. Was looking last night online at the 4 Toyota dealers in the NOLA area. Over 100 Tacomas, (all 2017's) not one with the manual. Frustrating, but willing to wait em out. No build date info either. Thanks to all that keep posting on here to keep us informed.

    @mtip, that sux.

    Just out of curiosity, why hold out for the M/T? I know there are many on this forum that prefer it. I have the A/T and find it to be enjoyable w/ the sequential shifting. I would prefer to have a lower first gear, but when off road and in 4-low the sequential shift works well (not having to worry about the clutch).

    There's plenty of opinions on here abut the AT/MT choice. Have had both over the years in cars & trucks. Never really have had any bad issues with automatics on any of my own vehicles. And I've done most of the mechanic work on them myself. But, for me, I just really enjoy the interaction of
    shifting & driving. Have had my Tundra since new in 2000 with the MT, and still want it on future vehicles. Although that's getting harder to come by every new model year.

    I took close to 4 months to get my 17, its well worth the wait for the Manual.
