Now I'm getting a funny squeaking sound when braking, hitting bumps. Sounds like it's towards the back.

You have to wash your leaf springs... I had to do it last night, was too annoying...

    Power wash prefferable

Could get some swampers or something too, then you won't be hearing them for sure :D

For those of us who still listen for squeaks and stuff, after using the trucks as a submarine in mud , that's the answer... Gotta wash it off, bubble sponge bath with soft detergent... Lol.
I rinsed them off last night, but I'll try to lift it up to extend the springs, power wash between them really good, hopefully by the weekend.

Yea I try to avoid mud and water anyway for many reasons. Just make sure that when you're pressure washing the springs you don't spray in towards the axle but spray from the inside out so you aren't wedging rocks/sand/mud further into the leaf pack.

I have acquired a horrible engine squeal. It sounds like its coming from the PS pump, fluid looks full and good. doesn't smell. The noise is a loud squeal and goes with the revs of the engine. I have no problems turning, it doesn't "sound off" when I am turning, or anything else.
To me it seems like there may be some dirt/mud stuck in the pulley. Not sure. I plan on power washing it. I will cover the alternator and the fuses and other things that I think should be covered when I get under the hood. I am no more going thru deep water or splashing mud up. It's just not worth it.

I'll have to deal with it all tomorow though. The closing on my triplex was delayed due to the one tenant not leaving after being given notice. I have been dealing with, researching, and calling lawyers ever since yesterday. came to the conclusion that we will delay the closing till Dec 1 and hopefully this guy leaves. He's already 9 days overdue from when he was supposed to be out.

    Good luck with the tenant.
As of this squeal I also had it, and it developed yesterday for some reason. My engine bay was full of mud so I hosed it off, no power wash(along with the springs) . I didn't hear it all the way into work in the morning, we'll see in the afternoon.

gotcha. I wish I had access to a garden hose!!! maybe I can find something while at work. I can probably rig something up from the bathroom "job trailer" we have set up. i dont WANT to powerwash but theres a lot of mud that splashed into there. more so from the last trip, but for some reason the squeal started on sunday

Mud and shit on belt/pulleys. Hose it out and it should get better. Happens ever time out for me.

If however it gets worse then it’s probably an idler pulley. They hang low and after getting dunked and full of mud many times the bearing goes.
