Curious if anybody knows what differences there are between the 2018 Tacoma that is now being rolled out vs. the 2017?

lots of threads on this topic, but getting in ahead of the trolls who will potentially be mean and tell you to use search..

    Nothing mechanical - same truck
    Different Grills
Cement now on Off-Roads (not Pros); Pros offered with Calvary Blue
Adding Toyota Safety Sense (auto braking, adaptive cruise, etc.,)
All V6s I think now include towing package standard.

That's about it... some minor changes in trims

Based on the press releases, Toyota doesn't even know yet.

    They cost more.

Last year's Pro exclusive color can be had on regular models (at least the cement, not sure on others.) Makes a budget way to build a faux Pro, since 98% of the public will never know it's not the right year or underpinnings.

More electronic gee whiz nanny stuff to help the incompetent driver while upping repair costs. Or safety features as touted by the marketing crew.

Just stating some facts, not being negative. If these are things a buyer wants, the '18 is for them.

All the important stuff (driveline, etc) is pretty much the same from what has been gleaned so far.

I’m also going to get in before misinformation, mean people, and before Toyota even knows what’s in the 18. The 18 comes with Toyota’s new kymeta sattelite global WiFi as well as the new 10” rear end (no howling, more like a sensual moaning) and 24/7 all wheel drive. Has fox 5.0 “drop your truck off your apt balcony” suspension, diesel option with 30psi rooster boost. 34 cupholders. It has 2 fold up tents one mounted on the hood in place of the old scoop (better visibility now) and one mounted on the roof. Don’t worry, there is a moon roof on the rooftop tent for those who desire to listen to their jewel cd while admiring the moon, While simultaneously owning a Toyota pickup. It also has a Viking natural gas range in the bed for overlanders who want to overland but don’t know how to build a fire in the woods with fuckin sticks. Also they fixed the qi charger and now you have radar so you don’t even need to pay attention while you drive, just focus on instagram since you’re such an instagrammer even though you probably just joined last year.
