I was sitting by a tree and my son actually jumped him while walking to his stand. He ran right down the hill at me, stopped about 30 yards away. When we locked eyes, he got a 30.06 to the center of his chest. And yes, his heart was Jello.

I don't think he was mad. He was hunting with an m1 garande and ended up shooting a small deer himself anyway. I think he was just excited to see something that big. I would have liked for him to shoot it, but I'm not going to complain about shooting it myself

No score yet. Everyone that's seen it says 170-180, but I don't know officially. It's at the taxidermy. I'm sure he'll measure it for his own amusement.

You guys are dropping some bruisers!
Hoping to get out tomorrow and over the long weekend.

Can't decide between my AK or my longbow. Be on the ground either way.

Windy in the tree this evening. Evening hunts are great. Can be in a stand by 3:30 and see plenty of deer before nightfall.

No one around here has been seeing deer in the evening for some reason. I saw one spike this evening. That makes 5 that I’ve seen in the evening since September....

Passed several 8s no problem tonight but a 10 stepped out and he almost died. He would have broke 140 but not 150. Let him walk, last day of rifle season. Tough call.

Hunting pressure will flip them to nocturnal quick. Happens here a lot, with bad weather you can catch them late evening.

I'm not hunting antlers. If it's brown, it's down!
No more donating tags this year lol!

Best believe I'll get buck fever and hold my antlered tag til the 26th though
