The wife and I want to start learning about either western NC or eastern Tenn. Be around either side of the base of the mountains. Get a few acres, have my own range, some dirt bike/mtn bike trails. Want some privacy and way less taxes and warmer climate but still have seasons. We love Conn. and RI for visiting, but no way and I going somewhere colder, more expensive and more restrictive gun laws.

When I was the VP for the entire east coast I told my wife we're moving to southern VA and she no longer has to work. She wouldn't budge one bit. We would have gad a 5000 sq ft house and all. Shame.

I'd move there at the drop of a dime. If I was able to find some type of work. Plus moving expenses

Holy shit. Poor dude I just met last weekend.

Here is the photo from the recovery page
From aero3685:

But on Sunday i decided to go to home Depot via Weston Pass since it's been nice and i live right by it. I had seen rigs coming off of it so I figured they had been over. (Turns out that want the case)

I made it up and over the top without much issue. On the west side there was a huge dip and sunk the truck into the snow.

Daylight was fading so i started to clear out from under the truck. I have gloves and a hiking pole... Of freaking course. With no weight in the back it wouldn't get grip and no cell service. Continued to dig out and warm up in the truck. Fast forward 3 hours and it was pitch black and windy. I got some traction and it started to rock back and forth. Digging out the front end i saw smoke, opened passenger door and there were flames on the drivers seat bottom.

I threw as much snow in as i could but it wasn't phasing it at all. After choking on smoke i grabbed a jacket, phone and backpack that were in the truck from work on Friday.

I hiked up to the top of the pass, called my cousin and 911. Then hiked another 1.5 miles to fire and medics.

The seat heater was on high as soon as i got stuck and i left it on since i was getting in and out to hear back up. It and wires that went out and under the truck for the roof rack lights were the only electrical under the seat which is why my guess was the heater. I had two layers on at that point so I'm not sure if the seat itself was hotter than usual.

I borrowed a land cruiser and got up to it this morning... It had been moved from the hole, completely burnt out. We're trying for a recovery and I'm trying to keep the trail open as it's dumping snow now but it's an easy trail.

I didn't get home until 11 that night, trying to work and figure stuff out and feel like shit.

Disclaimer: yes i am current on all payments, have no money issues and sure I'll be screwed over by insurance. You get what you pay for...

I'll throw up a picture at some point. Service is spotty, so it'll be later. :(
I posted that earlier on my phone since I started getting texts.

That happened late Sunday, Tried to work some on Monday along with figure out what the heck happened. Ran down to the front range to pick up the land cruiser since I dont have anything that can get up there. Got up there this morning after getting the fucker stuck... I was not thrilled at all. After I figured out how to activate the lockers it wasn't bad but still took some snow bashing. The snow drifts are decent in a couple spots but not bad. Even the short time I was up there, it was drifted to the point that I couldn't tell that I had been through only an hour before.

This is what it looks like. :(

I keep looking for stuff... realizing it was in the truck. Like my keys that I keep feeling for in my pocket. I was hoping it would've stopped and spared some parts but no dice. The Factor55 did survive, actually the winch and most of the rope doesnt look bad at all!

Priority is to get it down before the snow.

I reached out to Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery. But long story short... I dont need this to be a political, "let me ask the board of directors", we want to make this into a huge deal, multi day, lets rig up some stuff instead of putting it on a trailer, CYA event so I think I've decided to do it without them. I have the cruiser which is winched, locked and 35s. I also have a power wagon with a trailer, so one or two more winched rigs and I think it'll be a cake walk. Looking like we're looking to get it done on Sunday to not interfere with the relaxing holiday. Weather is looking great through the weekend and I'll probably bash my way up there a few times before then to make sure its open. :annoyed:
