Seems promising, but a seller like that I'd proceed with caution. I'd want documented proof of the frame swap and the new parts etc...

This was the one that was Fishy !!

None of the 95 to 2000 that I know of had frames replaced they just bought the truck if it was to the point it failed .

    This is interesting

To the point if you brought your Truck in and it failed You were calling someone to get a ride home.

I had heard stories but never saw any play out of people saying they lost lots of goodies but they did get 1 1/2 times Blue book value Who knows

Did he pay out of pocket for the Frame even at Employee discount I would guess $4000.00 ??

2012 is 17 years 2 years outside of the 15 year extended warranty

My question would be what did They pay for the frame

Are the frames different after 2002 ??

    This is very interesting

    Road Trip ??

The past owner worked at a Toyota dealership, so I'm sure he had connections of some sort. Rather he paid or someone else paid is the question. Will be speaking with the seller at some point tonight or tomorrow morning

The past owner claims to have worked at a Toyota dealership. If anything he tells you turns out to be false, i'd pass for lack of transparency which usually means they are hiding something. Just my 0.02 with used car buying.

I picked up the 95 Wednesday. Super clean inside and out. The underbody/frame was mint as a 22 year old could be. Drove it home 220 miles and Wednesday night I had my Toyota mechanic go through it.
The sway bar links had to be replaced (did both sides yesterday - OEM). The oil used 5W30 Royal Purple and was clean. The brake fluid was dirty, the power steering fluid was filthy, the radiator was low on fluid and it looked awful inside and I noticed a small leak on top. Right now the brake/power steering fluids are being flushed. My guy is pressure testing the radiator. If it's bad, I have a Denso radiator on order along with new lower/upper hoses, OEM thermostat, Toyota straight coolant, distilled water, and OEM water inlet housing gasket (all that for $175 shipped). The guy I bought it from told me the diff fluids were changed at 195K (truck has 206K), my mechanic is checking that also. If it's dirty, he will change both diffs with new gear oil. The tranny fluid was replaced at 192K, so he says too. Battery is new. The starter/alternator are solid. Brakes front/back are new

    Keep you posted

If you take good care of it, the truck will last you for years. Just don't forget to rustproof it! :)

On a side note, he told me the spark plugs and wires were changed this summer with Autolite and Pep Boys brand wires. There seems to be no issue with them. Should I go OEM wires/plugs or another or keep what I have?

Installed the OEM NGK NICKEL SPARK PLUGS (BKR5EKB-11) today too. The wires are fine, so no need to change

Edit: Bought the NGK 4412 (TE66) SPARK PLUG WIRE SET today
