Subwoofer in a 2004 Double Cab?

I’m working on upgrading the stereo in my truck. I’m currently stuck on the subwoofer.

I was about to place an order for a JL Audio MicroSub 8”, but I went to a local shop for a fitting, and it’s still just barely too big for behind the back seat.

I’m starting to think that compact, self-powered subs (like SSL LoPro 10) under the front seats are going to be my only option.

What have you first-gen owners done for a bass solution?

 

Ran a pair of these under the front seats of my 03 DC. They are plenty for the cab size and make the mirrors unusable, though won’t compete with a high volume box:

It’s reassuring to know what some one else took the route of an all-in-one. With no replies before you, I ended up getting a

Sound Storm LoPro10. It’s under my driver seat, and I’m on the verge of ordering a second one for the passenger seat for more volume. One is a great fill, two should bump pretty good. It would’ve been nice to be able to demo and listen to multiple units though.

 

I would bail. That is not a reputable brand, gets poor reviews, not sold by any reputable resaler, and is in no way 1200w. Aka rip off product.

Buy quality once. Look at the products I mentioned above or go to a quality site like https://www.crutchfield.com

 

Oh I’m sure the 1200w is a marketing claim. The reviews I saw were pretty good, but I’m interested in reading what you saw if you still have the links.

I’ve already got it wired up, I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to swap that one out and test another one in it’s place. Then I could return the one I don’t like. Since I was planning on a second any way, maybe that’s what I’ll do. I can revisit the thread after I compare them.

 

Admittedly didn't read the details before sending. Once I did it was because the eBay buy received the wrong product, so not really relevant.
