I don't know for sure about frame suppliers when it comes to different models. I do know that Metalsa, out of Mexico, is the current supplier for Tacoma frames.

No dealer will pay you what a vehicle is worth ... thats just a fact. Its called business. They care when you are buying .. not selling.

No offense but Toyota does not make the 'chips' and failure of said 'chips' is extremely rare (unless due to obvious circumstances)

I noticed this immediately as well.. wasnt too impressed. Good thing I spray the living shit out of it with fluid film twice a year (something I would be doing anyways).

Toyota-sold metal is subject to chemistry and physics just like all metal. If you live in the rust belt and dont underspray you get reality

No offense taken. I’m sure it was a rare occasion. However, it does not matter who makes the part, if the manufacturer chooses to use it, they are accountable.

I love how some of the koolaid drinkers in here get so offended if you say something negative about the Tacoma, as if you were
talking bad about their mother or something. Newsflash : The 3rd Gen. Tacomas are gutless wonders. Sorry, but it's true. I wish
it weren't because I loved everything else about the truck. Great truck with a dog of a motor.

Tundra is the worst half ton on the market. More gutless than the Tacoma IMO

3rd gen has the same 0-60 time as 2nd gen and beats 2nd in gauntlet tow test by a whopping 45 secs. Specs, facts. Even Ridgeline beats poor 2nd gens in tow test, now that's pathetic . Off the line they are not as fast as 2nd in first second or two, but when you hit that 3rd gen once shes going in that rpm band with 18% more hp than 2nd gen hold on !!! Passes the 2nd gen there no problem, and it sounds awesome. Plus 2nd gen looks like a back to the future vehicle.
    Koolaid toast.

My buddy had a TRD pro tundra, and man that thing was useless towing. such a terribly outdated platform.

He doesn't like the truck... just get over it lol I don't get it. When someone lists the reasons(usually not a short one) as to why they decided to make a change people always come in and say stuff like "well they figured that out, and replaced those, and you can fix those three things on your own so that's not a huge deal anyway. Truck drives like a truck y u mad?" He clearly said he had another Tacoma already so I think he is aware of how trucks drive.

Let it go... if I paid that much money for a truck and it had all of these issues within the first year or two I wouldn't trust it anymore either, and would probably look for something else. Just so we are clear is not a 3rd gen knock, a Tacoma knock, or a Toyota knock. This is just how business works. If you release a product and the consumers either don't like it or don't trust it they are going to look elsewhere.

Tacomas are not the only truck out there and toyota is not the only company that produces some really sick trucks for both on and off-road. If I had the money for it right now I would have a Sierra Denali to go along with my 2nd gen, and That doesn't mean that I think Toyota or the Tacoma is bad.
