this is literally the only reason I even did this, I was like "wonder what I can do to get more tor videos"

A few. No acceleration videos though. It wasn't until recently that the tune was good enough to make one. Prior, on the OEM ECU, it was a pig. Timing was pulled a lot, due to the intake cams not phasing. Since they are locked. Wasn't a happy ECU.

Then after a long while, I installed the Haltech. Took my time tuning and refining. Drove great, compared to factory. Was still down on power for what I felt it should be.

Swapped to large injectors and had to retune the fuel map. These being the injectors for the turbo, I now was able to refine and adjust timing as necessary. After a fun run, to get a point of reference, I adjusted the timing map a little more.

Runs just a little slower than a 5vz with ~6 psi. Not bad I'd say, for N/A. @Brice knows the exact PSI.

 

What size are stock? And what duty cycles are you running at WOT? I tend assume the stock ecu is around 70-80% at WOT and with that assumption you highest fuel cell in the FIC shouldn't be over 0, i.e. a positive number.

Oh and e85 uses about 30% more fuel than petrol so I think you might be hitting a wall on that front.

 

Stock is around 280cc and not sure the duty cycle too bad ai cant put slightly bigger injectors

 

There isn't a kit for the 5vz either, just a bucket of random parts that kind of fit together, enough that the hood will latch

If I did this again it would definitely be custom. I think there is quite a bit of performance/efficiency left on the table with the cx kit, it was pretty clearly designed from a packaging standpoint. There is a documented 5vz custom turbo build somewhere in the depths of this site and the thing was making like 350 whp on 9 psi on something tiny like a 50 mm inducer.

 

well I can prolly count the welds on both hands that weren't made by me or one of the other two guys that helped me, and that's including inside the muffler haha

I actually asked the other guys what they thought about making hot side kits "HELL NO!" was the jist of the response haha

 

pretty much right at 6psi Im at 10 or so now. With a little more fuel on the top end i'll be golden.

 

Just you wait, homeslice. Get a diff, and it'd be quite entertaining to see what it runs at Royal Purple Raceway.
