Three months shy of 13 and still can’t get enough swimming. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the best.

Let me know if you want to stroll up to that spot and let the pupperinos play around. Some nice easy trails with killer views.

So i’m bringing home my wife and our first kid from the hospital tomorrow. Any tips for introducing the dogs to the baby? I’m not worried about the golden retriever, i’m a little worried about the 2 Yorkers because they are a little high strung.

They’ll feed off of your body language pretty quick and realize that the screaming pink crap factory is higher in the pack hierarchy than they are. Happens pretty quick. My dogs were immediately accepting of my son, an Akita and (my wife’s) Pomeranian. Just let them know that any negative behavior is unacceptable and they’ll treat the new addition as another you.

Plus, they’ll soon realize that the little screaming crap factory will throw them food, so it benefits them to cultivate this friendship.

Yah dude! That'd be stellar! Zoey loves other dogs and could certainly use a couple of big dogs to help get her energy out lol. Let me know when you plan on heading their next and I'll see if I'm off. I could also use some easy intro trails to get a feel for this truck and this island!

Was out of town since yesterday early morning. She hasn’t left my side. Wife thinks it’s hilarious that she is so attached. I've determined this is her "how dare you go away" look

That is the same crate my pooch broke out of. I gave up and got him a pillow to sleep on and he has been good as gold every since. He spends his day outside by the pond. (without the beer)

I wish he was at an age I could trust him not to get into or destroy everything if I left him free. Once he gets past the putting everything he sees into his mouth I will start to try and use his crate less. I feel the time is coming soon since he is almost done teething! I wont leave him outside when I'm not home as I am sure he will find a way to get out of the yard and its also way to hot in the summers to be left outside all day in the Tx heat. I'm feeling pretty confident he wont get out of his new crate. I didnt think about the fact he can get his nose between the bars of the new crate and he destroyed a set of curtains it sits by on his first day in it yesterday.

Never owned a Great Dane. Probably won't. They're so damn big. Probably eat 40 lb. bags of food in a week.

I have Boomer, a labahoula (Labrador and Catahoula mix), now. I think a Great Dane Catahula mix may need to be the next pup in the house.

Wife and I had never heard of Catahoula before Boomer. Now we know of 4 or 5 mixes within a few blocks of our house. Awesome dogs and smart. ok the neighbor has a goofy Catahoula beagle mix, but all the other mixes we have met are very smart.

We both love Danes too, so logical step? I think so. :D

    Caught this miserable bastard!

The Hollywood Police Department said it has made an arrest in the animal cruelty case related to Ollie the pit bull, who died days after being found beaten, stabbed and stuffed in a suitcase.

In a statement, HPD said 31-year-old Hollywood resident Brendan Evans was arrested on Wednesday following an investigating in which it executed a search warrant at his residence on Nov. 14.

Evans, whose DNA was found on the suitcase in which Ollie was found, is charged with aggravated animal cruelty, police said.

The investigation into Evans revealed a criminal history, police said. He was arrested by the Broward County Sheriff's Office in 2012 for domestic battery and he is currently on probation for a bank robbery in Hernando County.

No place in our society for people like him. There's a hole in the desert with his name on it.

Most don't eat that much. 4 cups of food per day is normal for an average male.
And they have huge personalities. You will never gripe about the food cost. I have owned many breeds and mixes, and Danes and Greyhounds are honestly my favorites.

Huge personalities? Just hanging with some friends when the Great Dane decided he needed a little “action” and went to town on its owner. I have never laughed so hard in my life!
