I can see them getting left out. If Auburn barley beats Alabama then destroys Georgia again and if Clemson barley beats Maimi I think we will have a tough choice for top 4 and I think they would leave Wisconsin out.

    1. Clemson
    2. Oklahoma

3 and 4 confuse me. Idk where Auburn would end up bit let’s just say they are at 3.

So number 4 you would have to choose between a 10-1 Alabama, 10-1 Miami, 11-0 Wisconsin.

not saying it's fair but I can see the winner of the b1g getting in. Especially if ohio st wins it.

    Interesting stat:

Nick Saban is 0-6 vs auburn when auburn has won 9+ games.

Thats interesting. I just had a good conversation about the iron bowl and the SEC title game, with one of my employees. He feels Bama will win. I feel it could go either way, but if its a win by a decent margin, then it will be AU. As a UGA fan, I just hope they beat the hell out of each other.

I think if Wisconsin beats Ohio State in the championship game, they are in. Undefeated, their “signature win” over Ohio State, and conference champs....I don’t see how they can be left out. I suppose the argument is their schedule, but I don’t think that’s enough to leave them out at that point.

All of this is my opinion of course. If Ohio State wins, I can see both Wisconsin and tOSU missing the CFP.

    Meaning you want injuries?

Just because your team gets destroyed by another and your only chance of winning is injuries doesnt mean you should hope that on someone else, you POS.

Please settle down. I don't want injuries, Never do. Especially at the college level, where an injury could derail a student athlete chance of going pro, or even cost them their scholarship. Knowing the history of the rivalry, I believe everyone is looking for physical a game.

good, we have a lot of people at work, Auburn and Alabama fans, that cheer when a player gets hurt and I cant stand it.

It will without a doubt be a physical game, I just wish I could be at home drinking a beer while watching it and not stuck here at work :ballchain:

I requested off this weekend, so I'll be able to see some good football, for once. For the Sec title game, I'll be stuck here at work. Im a chef at one the hotels in downtown Atlanta, and we will be BUSY, next weekend, that is for sure.

Question for the Bama and AU fans, how do y’all feel about playing us in the SECCG? All I keep seeing on FB comments is basically saying the iron bowl is the SECCG. Both fan bases saying we don’t have a chance. I know people talk shit and whatever, but am curious how members on here view it?

All the talk is how weak the East is. We blew all the East teams out and took MSU down convincingly so I don’t see that as a valid argument.

I feel like it’ll be a battle either way but could be wrong. If we don’t get better line play than we did against AU it’ll be ugly. I just think we’ll be a different team than what showed on the plains. I think the pressure of being #1 combined with on the road in hostile environment got to them and everything just fell apart. I’m just not sure who I’d rather face. On one hand with Bama being so banged up and seeing how MSU ran on them I feel that we’d match up better against them. On the other hand we want revenge and to prove ourselves against the Tigers and have faired well against them over the past several years.

Either way I’m not gonna get down if we don’t win, we’re building something special here.

I like our chances against Bama better because of the depleted linebacker corps. I’d kinda like to see auburn again to see if they were really that much better than us, or if we had a bad day. Every team has a bad day every now and then. Going off our common opponents, we throttled Tennessee and Miss St, Bama throttled Tennessee and Miss st kept it close. We struggled for a half against Missouri for some reason, but still won by 3+ scores. Auburn also throttled Miss st. :notsure:

I think the game being on the plains had a big part in the game. Tough place to play when they’ve got something to play for or something to prove. A neutral field would make for a more competitive game, and I don’t think kirby would allow another game like that anyway

This should not be interpreted as talking shit...

I'll admit that I haven't watched much UGA football this year. There are a couple of arguments to be made that the Iron Bowl is for the SECC, though. One, obviously, is the UGA/auburn game. It's really hard to ignore that, especially if auburn wins on Saturday. Second is the way ND lost to Miami. I don't have the schedule in front of me, but I think ND was UGA's best win, right? I suppose we could play "who beat who beat who" a lot of ways... Still, the combination of getting ripped apart by auburn and having the best win on your record get torn up by Miami all on the same day makes me wonder.

I wouldn't bet on the SECC being a blowout either way, but if I had to put money one one side, I'd put it on the West. (It should be noted again, though, that I don't bet real money on sports, b/c I'm not good at it!)

    Just my $0.02.

i would like to add some to that. Uga is solid at about 85% of the game, auburn exploited the crap out of that 15% and that is why they won. Both of auburns losses came down to bad play calling (letting off the throttle agaisnt lsu but thats still play calling) those things can be reviewed and adapted to not make those mistakes down the road, however a weak part of a team that basically comes down to skill/talent cannot be so easily changed, and ones it is exposed, it becomes an easy(easier) target for other teams. Im not saying it is gonna be a blow out but i would say its gonna be like 10:1 for uga to beat either team if they do some homework

Alright, guys... I'm headed home for the day, and I might not be in the thread again until during/after the Iron Bowl.

I think that given the trouble Bama had w/ MSU's run game and how depleted their LBs are, I would not count UGA out if it comes down to those two. UGA has some great RBs.

I was shocked at how ND got beat by Miami, I thought that game was going to be Miami’s downfall.

And it’s tough to call because our lines did get whooped against Auburn but we also didn’t play our game. Maybe that we got frustrated and let the crowd noise get to us and all but we made dumb penalties we normally don’t, muffed a punt and we’ve been solid on special teams, and the big factor for me was that the coaching staff didn’t really give Fromm a chance to try to open it up with the passing game. I remember saying early in that game when they were stuffing the run we were going to have to see if Fromm can handle the weight if we were going to win. The staff seemed as if they were afraid to get away from our game of running it.

Yes getting outplayed, I understand that but as stated above why not see if we could use more passing to open the run back up? I feel like Fromm can handle it if they’d give him the chance, even more so on a neutral field. But if the o line can’t protect him enough then we’re done. If we can’t run might as well give it a shot imo. At least mix in some screens and use the TEs imo.

The lack of screens and TE plays are what really surprised me. If the O line gets dominated again, you’ve GOT to throw some slip screens or quick slants to the TE. I don’t know what’s Cheney was thinking there, but you’ve got to think Kirby told him to stop being a dumbass when they watched the film.

Yes to this. The lack of TE involvement this year is baffling. Two good TE on the team.

I usually expect to get disappointed in ND year after year and year. This year was no different although I thought they would at least show up for the Miami game.
