In my defense of not liking grits or catfish, I will eat Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast, lunch and dinner all on the same day even...

It’s not pretty but pork tenderloin made some fab pulled pork last night.

Right there with ya. I do not like grits. No sir I do not. Eating sand is the same thing, only better.

There are times that 'whole milk' is the only answer to the 'add ingredients' list.
I have found a few package mixes that are 'good' but best is from scratch. YMMV

Recipe saved and printed. My wife is a refried bean freak, and that is only one of her 'good' freaks. :)

I guess Im odd but I like both but the only thing is they have to be moist. I dont like dry cornbread.

Ive had good old United states Air Force chow hall biscuits and gravy so thats about the lowest you can go on the gravy scale...

My BIL is a pressure cooker freak for beans and the wife is total afraid so this recipe has evolved for the last 20 years.

If you are looking for things to go with it check out Mely's site. https://www.mexicoinmykitchen.com/ It is a blog published into a web page so it is hard to find things a second time so bookmark or print when you find something interesting to try. Her "use one large or 3 small" instructions make me crazy so you need to adjust and keep notes until you perfect a recipe. She has a really good article on dried Mexican peppers and does do a lot of background on recipes like the salsa recipe.

I use her salsa recipe but use red onion and 2 to 1 / tomato to tomatillos ratio by weight - I have added a ghost pepper once - not again. https://www.mexicoinmykitchen.com/2013/06/salsa-taquera.html

Whole milk is for drinking. Heavy cream is for making sausage gravy and putting in the coffee

Any of you ever done tortellini in the crockpot?

My MIL did it last year around mid December, along with some ridiculous grilled cheese sandwiches for a warm meal after a Christmas parade.

They swelled up yuuuuuge and were damn delicious. Great meal when you’re freezing, BTW.

I can see doing a stock in a crock pot but tortellini only takes a few minutes to cook.

More suggesting to cook them on low heat for a longer period of time for dumpling sized, super delicious tortellini.

She uses the crock because they have a gas stove and they cooked in stock and seasonings while we were all out of the house. Not safe to leave the stove on.

Was great though. Would recommend if anybody wants more of a tortellini soup.

Thanks but, I already live with a crazy woman. She doesn't like mushrooms! Salsa? pffft I already make a simple salsa that is better than I've ever had, anywhere. But the wife wants to make the refried beans so... we will!

I’m a yankee by birth and location, but southern at heart! Spent some time in the south, tried grits, just couldn’t get used to them. Hash browns or fried taters for my breakfast carb.
