Need some help here. So for a 2018 7150 4x2 DCSB with premium off-road and tech packages. What should I be expecting to pay in Los Angeles?

The Toyota webpage is all messed up right now. The only color I can add is Cement.. Can't select any interior options, and doesn't give any options for packages. I have a feeling they are tweaking it right now...

New to Tacomas, looking to buy an 18 for my first - trying to figure out if I'm getting a deal or should hold out for more.

18 TRD OR DCLB in Cement, w/ basic tech package.
    MSRP 38,698
    They say invoice of 36,540.
Willing to go down to 35,540.
Including ttl, out the door at 39,698.

    Imo, this still feels high.

    Located in AZ.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!

The website is NOT MESSED UP -- Toyota is -- they are only "letting you build" what they have built and have available in your area. This is the lousiest marketing ploy I have ever seen!! I mean-- come on Toyota-- at least let the customers configure what they want and would probably buy, even if you can't get it to them within a few days!!
If I am wrong on this --let me know! I have tried to build what I wanted to see for the last 4-5 days with absolutely NO success!

If you don't believe me -- just use the site and try an build a SR5 AC --even a Sport AC --the only AC that comes up is the off road !
Buthead marketing people are steering you to what they have built!!

Also new to Tacomas and I put in quite a bit of time trying to figure out what constitutes a good deal on one. Your deal doesn't sound bad if that is the real MSRP. I can't get to $38,698 with the minimal options you listed.. MSRP for Truck 35180 + 995 destination + 770 tech = $36,945.. so there must be more options??

I'm at $3300 under MSRP and thought I did OK considering its a 2018 and not even built yet. It's also exactly what I wanted except for a few extra add-on options like a tonneau cover/etc that I didn't get to deny because it is an ordered/allocated truck. I see a lot of people paying MSRP for these trucks in certain areas where dealers won't come down at all - see the early posts in this thread and the 2017 thread.

I think you are right. From what I’ve read on this forum, ex Toyota (sales)? Employees have made it seem like the “build” your own Toyota is an illusion. You can only build what Toyota has built or going to build and then its allocated.

Build on toyota.com was 38,490 for MSRP. 18 TRD OR DCLB 4X4. Extra was floor mats, which I don't really care about.

Even if MSRP is 38.5k, is 35.5k invoice a bad deal?

That's what I paid 2 yrs ago for my Taco Sport 4x2 as well. $34,961.
Since then I did close to $3.4k mods, parts etc. Mostly wheels and repair for a paint damage. Mine will hit 19k miles in a few days.

Ok now I'm not sure what I should do. So you all saw my other post where I "ordered" my 2018 TRD OR DCSB no extras in Cement.
I put a $500 deposit so they would change the color and delete the extra packages so I could get what I want. Now I'm not a guy that takes going back on ones word lightly and I was very excited to be getting what I want . But dang! I would feel pretty crumby if I could have got the same truck by January for 3k less.
I work really hard for my money and have saved along time for this truck so I feel like if my dealership can' at least split the difference with what others are getting ( I know my area is higher demand) then maybe I should just drive to AZ. I mean 3k is alot of money to me. Uughh maybe I should have just never looked at this thread Lol.

You said it. You work hard for YOUR money. I good deal is a good deal and you have to do your due diligence when it comes to your finances.

I hate to feel like a jerk if I walk away but a drive down to so cal is worth it if we are talking about significantly bigger savings ie 1k plus.
Besides in this area the truck I put a deposit on will sell before it sits on the lot for even 1 day.

I will of course go and talk with my dealership first and see what we can work out before the truck gets here.

Ok so I'm looking for a dealer in California that has the truck I was going to buy locally and if I can get anywhere near the 3600 off msrp that OPaisa got I will jump on it.
