That really sucks. Pretty sure that dude answered some of my CO questions on the CO thread.

 

Have him check with his auto insurance - they might cover the cost of professional recovery and towing under his comprehensive insurance, since it likely is totaled.

 

Gonna do my best.

There were always talk of us retiring out there, even moving down to NC for something similar, but now that I've been out there, fuck NC.

 

Lol...pretty sure burning it to the ground will be a totaled truck. But Idk that any tow company is going to get up there, I'll see

 

Seeing it's a 2nd gen, I'd guess the he installed the seat heaters himself. I'd be hoping the insurance company doesn't try tell the owner it's his fault and make the claim difficult. Could the owner have messed up the wiring, or does he think the heater was faulty?

 

Tow company’s don’t care. It’s income for them. Insurance companies cover this cost all the time.

But they physically need the vehicle to officially call it totaled.

@Chux Whats the coldest weather you've camped in? Do you use any sort of heating devices to warm up the tent or just rely on sleeping bags?

Hey guys,
Wanted to throw this out locally first to see if there's any interest. I have become even more deeply consumed by my long travel project and will moving on from my original front end purchase. Would anyone be interested in a 3.5 heimed Dirt King front long travel kit?
In addition to the kit it has the DK extended axles, DK spindle gussets, diff drop, reservoir mounts and shock tower adapters. I also sourced hardware to solid mount the LCA, have Total Chaos alignment tab gussets, new set of OEM alignment cams/bolts and super fresh spindles off a brand new truck.
I also have the machined spacer on the way from Dirt King for needed CV boot clearance at full droop if diff drop and the inner CV is machined for extra droop.
I also have a machinist local to Jackson area that can do said machining.
I will be keeping my coilovers.
$3340 for everything.
