    That’s what I’m leaning since I do want to deer hunt with it also. Just the cost of .223 ammo is appealing because it’s capable to hunt with too.

    .223 isnt bad if you get some heavier/expanding ammo. 300 blk has gotten waayyy cheaper since inception, if you reload, you can get it down below 75 cents per rd or so.

    I use a m44 mosin nagant to hunt deer. Just prefer open sights and practicing is cheap cheap cheap.

    If you're hunting don't settle for .223, although most uppers are chambered for 5.56 anyways. Just get the 300blk or 308 like a man :D

    I’ve thought about getting a mosin but people are proud of them over the past few years so it hasn’t been worth it to me.

    Haven’t looked at them in awhile so they may have gone back down but when I was looking they were almost $300 for one in decent condition.

    I got mine right before the bum rush, i think $79 at a gun show, got to pick it from a case of 20 or 25.

    You wont regret 30 cal for hunting.

    That’s what I was looking for when I started looking. Everyone told you could get them on the low and the ammo was cheap but of course I didn’t get in on the good times before every else found that out.

    I’ve been watching videos and reading about it and it seems as long as I stay away from subsonic then I’ll be just fine! I’ll be happy to use it in every application I need. Which is what I’m going for in one of these rifles. Self defense, deer/hog/coyote hunting, random fun shooting with friends.
