I've seen two cements, one driving by in the evening that looked amazing, and one on the lot in bright sunlight which convinced me I would never be happy with one. Way too pale looking in the light of day.

 

Papa Smurf approves. I can assure all the nay sayers that Toyota is going to sell a shit ton of these trucks in Papa Smurf blue. A shit ton by the way, is way more than you can even imagine.

Where's the option for "I thought it was going to look great and then became disappointed when I actually saw the color in person"?

I saw the T4R version in person. Definitely not a fan of the colorway.

 

Come on, man. With all due respect, I understand you’re not a fan of the color, but to say it isn’t a “truck color” fails to recognize lighter blue hues have been matched with trucks in America dating back decades. Light blue seems to have stopped being released sometime in the 1980s. In my opinion, it’s more of a truck color than the silver Tacoma I’m driving.

But, do you notice in every one of those picts of older trucks --the blue is "broken up" with splotches of white or chrome??
That's the big difference, even on the FJ --did it not have a white roof. The old expression "too much of a good thing" applies here.
Oh well that's just my observation and opinion. To each their own! (another old expression)
BTW that first old Chevy is super sharp!

When trucks were "Trucks".

 

I saw a 4 Runner in that color at my local dealer a few weeks ago. I was with my GF and was like "wow, look at the color! That's interesting". She was like "meh, looks like Papa Smurf". I couldn't disagree.

I think it's one of those that look cool upon first seeing it, but probably gets old fast. I kind of feel like Quicksand is like that. I was in love when it first came out, and was dead set o nthat color if I were to get a Taco. Now, whenever I see QS I still think it looks good, but the wow factor is gone. Right now I really love Blazing Blue Pearl, and I also think they look super sharp in white.

I think if/when I get one, it will be either white or BBP.

Honestly, I think the coolest color on these would be Jeep "Rhino". It's like cement but darker. That's my fav Jeep color right now.

 

Yep I have a 72 c10 original paint "hugger orange" only classics could pull off colors like that.

 

Why is everyone giving papa smurf a hard time? Embrace the smurf. It’s ok to like smurfs...and Blue smurf trucks.
