    That's the problem.

We hate the cookie cutter type lodgings. We loved the old time feeling of the Old Wooden Bridge fishing cabins and marina. Just can't bring out selves to stay at the chain hotels. The joint was pretty much leveled from the hurricane.

My biggest fear is the marina will be sold to some mega chain. Not looking forward to what the future will bring.

Gottcha, I figured it was some such, but saw another post that said 11 of 15 and another that was like 7 of 16.5. That sucks. Don't miss being on shifts like that. Got a pretty kush gig now guaranteed 40, four days (nights:rolleyes:) a week 10hr shifts. Shift days never change. It's nice to have a routine.

Done the working weeks in rows thing sucks never having time to cook/clean/laundry/play.

Can't say as I blame you, seems like commercialisation is the way the keys are going now though. :(

As for lodging I was thinking more of the mom and pop type motels, definitely doesn't beat a fishing cabin and board walk place though.

You bring a boat down with you?

We rented from the marina. I wonder where that boat ended up?

I can take a couple guesses...

Actually if they could pull it out of the water it probably made it just fine.

But at least those were scheduled well in advance and I was ready for them. The current 15 was sprung on me at the last moment.

Clocked out at midnight. Had a beer with folks in my area and going to recover from my cough and chest congestion during my 5 day break.

Retirement update. The upper command is being nasty about me leaving while everyone else is happy for me.

No surprise there, upper management is always salty about people retiring.
