Except for the headlights, replaced all my exterior bulbs with LEDs and added load resistors to the four blinkers to stop the annoying hyperflash. Also replaced both rear lenses as well as the two headlight lens assemblies. New on left old on right.[IMG]

    woops i read that wrong. i have a no-slip not a lockright.

but anyways. if i remember right the stock pin isnt fully machined but it is the same size. this would cause issues on the no-slip because it engages the centre mechanism. the lockright might work fine though.

I've been slacking on good rants on this thread as of late, but buying expensive shocks before knowing what length you need might be cause for one. :stirthepot:

Always down for a good Brett Rant!

And I completely resemble that remark.

I just got lucky after doing a little bit of research prior to purchasing the shocks and ended up with a usuable length.

    :p

I need to get some PM and repair work done on my shitbox daily before I start in on the truck, but I’m super stoked to get the rear suspension work going. I have a feeling my bed, rack, and RTT are going to be living in the backyard under a tarp for most of the winter...

Yeah I was looking for shocks long enough for the springs but short enough that I don't have to move anything.

Expos are definitely the more popular pack. But I rarely have heavy weight in the bed, so I opted for the pack that'd be comfier unloaded.

Is my understanding of Fox's Performance vs Factory shocks correct? Performance has adjustment and the resi clip whereas the Factory does not? Neither of those are huge factors for me and I definitely wouldn't mind the cost savings.

Yeah I wanted Kings F/R but ultimately was open to whatever works, and wasn't looking to relocate anything. Gonna be enough of a job getting the stock parts off. I don't need extra work.

lmao glad I brought you back for a bit.

Yeah I feel like a dumbass, and rightfully so. I did do some research prior to purchasing. But clearly not enough. And I had different parts in mind when I first set out to get parts, and I didn't do research to account for the different parts. Oops.

Sounds like how mine was this spring. Will be looking forward to seeing how you get yours setup.

Will be tearing into this spring again to install/cycle new leafs, and change the shocks and bumps if necessary. Then the interior will be getting some much needed love with a complete removal, cleaning, sound deadening, and installing the Sparco. All while trying to save some pennies for a Go Fast Camper.

Do you have the extended/collapesed length of those shocks?

Could run them with limit straps, whereas you'll loose some travel, but won't over-extend your shocks.

Really, there's no shocks that work in the stock mounts to maximize travel. Most people go with longer shocks, but end up having to limit up travel to prevent them bottoming out.

I'll still stand by the argument I've made before that there's very little point on running 2.5 performance shocks on the stock mounts.

    For the King rears? Sure.
    Collapsed: 13.11"
    Extended: 19.5" (left) 20.5" (right)

I considered limiting straps, but I'd rather put w/e shock works safely without extra work needed and, if possible, gets a decent amount of the shock used. My primary use of the truck is DD, with occasional wheeling, so I am not bothered by a slight loss of travel in stock mounts. If those 10" travel Fox's would work, I would be satisfied with them. I don't doubt their ride is still great.

Yeah, those are really short. May even be at or near full extension at ride height.

10" shocks are often too long for the stock mounts and you have to raise the bumps.

Closest thing to a perfect fit would probably 10" 7100 short bodies.

Seeing the different (specifically longer) shock lengths, I am not surprised the Kings are too short for a few inches of lift. Seems obvious now.

Would the shocks that JBTacoma mentioned he uses work with SuperBumps installed? They will be going on with the new leafs and I know they sit quite a bit higher than stock bumps.
