Anyone Make Their Own Carne Asada?

who here makes carne? I'm not so much for just throwing thin meat on a grill.

What do you guys do for marinades? cooking secrets etc?

 

I go to the mexican meat market i let jesus do all the work for me. I just come home and throw it on the grill

 

If you go to Walmart atleast the walmart by me has it but they sell seasoning in a package most of its pretty good and not super expensive

 

+ Buy the meat at some mexican meat place, no regular market.
+ Put one layer of meat in some aluminum oven tray or something.
+ Spread pepper and garlic salt ever meat (it's up to you how much)
+ Turn the meat around.
+ Repeat the pepper and garlic step.
+ Squeeze a couple of oranges over the meat. Verify all the meat is wet (not too much juice)
+ Cut some round pieces of onions and put the over the meat.
+ Put another layer of meat over the first one.
+ Repeat the steps (not the first one though)

hole in the wall Mexican markets are the best spot. The hardest part of grilling is going back and forth to the fridge for more beer!

 

your going to the wrong shops then... you been to the one off Convoy right by the car wash, it has a drive through on both sides. Best one in S.D. that I've found so far.

 

I use a tiny bit of liquid smoke, Soy sauce, Garlic salt, Peper, chili powder, and let it sit in a zip lock for an 45 then grill it.

But go to a mexican market they normally have good stuff. if they sell things you've never seen before thats the good stuff lol
