    Not much, yet.
I'm down for a run but don't know if anyone's planning anything.

Would anyone be interested in doing a Christmas tree run? You can buy a tag for about 10 bucks for a 12foot tree.

You ever get word on the shaking of the truck or when everything dried off it just went away?

Pretty washed out, I havent checked for snow yet. They use to have a camera at the upper bridge across the river.

    Just got back.

I'd say "pretty" was an appropriate word choice:

Perhaps I'll see the lake someday. But given the downpour, I can't say that I was... surprised :anonymous:

Is thats the first creek crossing? If so Itake it the lake crossing up top would have been 5ft deep? I went up the road when it was like that. Made it 2 more switch backs from your vid. I will go up if you take another run at it later on before snow hits.

It was actually the second creek crossing, but the first one I did was down the wrong (dead-end) trail. So that would be the first crossing on the proper Surprise Lake trail. I have no idea what the upper crossing looks like, as this was not safely passable. Quite the ledge down into the froth, and then another getting out. My luck I'd crawl out there just as the barely-buried culvert decides to take a journey down the mountain.

Every creek and river looked like the Niagara, and most of the trails were becoming creeks. It was fun.

If you went past suprise lake and a left on to the dead end trail. At the end of it park and hike up hill, puts you at the mouth of the old mine. All tailings are still visible.

I think that's the first one I did. Looks like a much nicer day, too. It was up to my sliders and had a lot more water timber piled up.
Had I known about the mine I would have scrambled up the hill to check it out! Instead I was busy trying to do a 39 point turnaround. Oofda.

nice brother! I've been watching youtubers of butchering. Just paid $110 to get mine cut. I really want to do my own after I'm in a house and not a little apt. Linds is awesome for jerky and sausage though. Will take me a while to figure all that out.

Anyone here a pro at replacing u joints? I've got some serious steering wheel shake when going 50-70 on the freeway and slight floorboard vibes. Also I can move my driveshaft by hand a little bit, so I think it's the joints. 83k miles...

Is Spicer the best replacement choice?

That's what's strange, I'm not hearing any squeaking. When my buddy had a u joint fail on his pre runner it squealed in reverse... Although one day a few months ago I went from no vibes to a very bad wheel shake. I crawled under the truck and found all 4 of my prop shaft bolts loose and almost completely backed out. I fixed that and retorqued to spec, I wonder if this may have caused premature wear on the joints and CB.

Hmm.. well if you can shake the driveline then your u joints are blown. 90-100k is normal for needing to replace those

I think I'm going to order all new ones then, and replace the carrier bearing at the same time. Should be an easy fix.

Would you recommend replacing the front joints too? I think they would be ok for now.

No fronts should be fine. Only are used in 4wd
