Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

@OVTune just a thought. Maybe put a new item on your site as a preorder tune that requires a deposit of 100ish or so to cover some of your hardware costs, in case folks back out. You could make it refundable or not as you see best, though I would suggest non so you have no out of pocket losses.

It would definately give you a guage of intent as well as a way to process with your payment folks. You would also then know how many dongles etc for the tacos alone so you could increase, if needed, your PO from your suppliers.

 

I have a Mac and am attempting to install windows 10. I’m trying to use Boot Camp because I thought OV said that was the preference. So, I’ve downloaded the 64 bit version and plugged in my USB drive. When I hit continue in boot camp, it says “Boot Camp only supports windows 7 or later installations on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation”.

Maybe it’s also worth mentioning that there are three checkboxes when I start the Boot Camp process. One of the boxes is grayed out. It says “Download the latest Windows support software from Apple”

 

Update: I double clicked the downloaded Windows 10 file in my downloads folder and it says the disk image can’t be opened because the resource is busy.

Sounds to me like the file is still downloading or corrupted. If it is fully downloaded, reboot and try again.

I’m using bootcamped windows 10 without issues.

Thank you. I’ll try it again when I get home. I tried once without it working so I cleared my download folder and tried again with no success. Maybe giving it some time will help?? Also, I read somewhere that if I wanted to use the Windows ISO for longer than 30 days, I needed to purchase a product key for somewhere around 100 bucks. Is this something you had to do?

Hi, for $100 I bought a refurb windows machine online and no problems. You might just buy a used refurbed machine and when you get it reset it to factory defaults and off you go!

 

P.S. I am a Mac user.

where did you guys get your $100 refurb devices. Just curious. I got some cheap macbook looking knockoff made in China for $160 running Windows 10. Thought that was a good deal.

 

I appreciate that perspective. If the 100 dollar license cost it true, then I completely agree. Can anyone confirm weather or not purchasing the license is required and what the cost is? Thanks for your input

 

I think it’s 60 or 90 days. I usually just blow it away and recreate it. I gave up on windows licensing a long time ago (windows activation does not play nice with virtual machine snapshots)
