What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

That'll come after suspension probably. Mostly because cutting and welding will need to be done right at the leaf hanger and if I bring it to someone to do it and everything is seized on still, who the hell is gonna wanna tackle that too? As for what I'll do, I'll go with the caps from autorust and do that method.

 

This is why I bought the Fox shocks, they are long enough for my droop but the shock body is too long when collapsed, so that is where the super bumps come in. They shorten the collapse distance (The red line in the picture) so they work.

So just measure and make sure the shock length is a little longer than your full droop and use a bump stop to stop it from bottoming out the shock when collapsed. Find a shock that is as close to your measurement as you can find, like I said before most everyone's truck is different

 

you still daily it? Would be sketch driving that thing on the daily with holes right at the spring hangers. How far north are you? I might be able to help you out with the lift.

 

I'll do some measurements and see if the numbers make sense to me and match up with the options available. If I have to, I will go further and do what I gotta do to find out the correct sizes. I have SuperBumps waiting to go on once the leafs come in. If I have to increase their height, I believe that's possible.

Well the holes aren't substantial. Not worried about daily driving. It's the stress from wheeling that'd worry me, so I won't be doing any of that until it's taken care of.

Yes it is possible.
Just remember the factory shocks are different lengths, so you will have to measure both and use the longest collapsed number and the longest extended number.

Is that supposed to be 'compromise'? That's why I'm leaning away from Ranchos, Billies, RC, etc... I figured if I am gonna spend the money then get something worthwhile. It's why I haven't done anything with suspension until now. It's a DD foremost, so I want to really enjoy the ride.
