Sags 1 inch when Trailer is on- Should I be worried?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2010 dc longbed with 5100's set at 1.75 in front, TSB in rear-(when just sitting there, it is a about a 1/4 inch nose high) when I hook up my tent trailer, it sags one inch. Is this something to be worried about or par for the course? Or should I look into getting some air bags or some Tibren's. Hitch weight is only around 300lbs, and the GVW is 3k-

 

Won't hurt a thing. Trucks are designed to carry loads. That load will weigh down the back of the truck. If you put 300 or more pounds in the back it's gonna sag while the load is on. Once you take the load off the rig will return to it's original height.

It will piss off the cars in front of you @ night, but shouldn't hurt the truck. May want to consider lowering billies to 0.85.

 

Your rear is lower than the front without a load on it?

You need to either lower the 5100's closer to stock level or get an AAL for the rear.

What's the total weight of the tent trailer?

When you say, *hitch weight* - do you mean TONGUE WEIGHT?

If your rear-end is sagging that badly...you're pitching the front end of the truck upwards which is BAD for steering. That's why proper tonque weight is soooo important for the best steering/safety/handling while towing. Having a poorly equipped suspension - reduces the amount of tonque weight the truck can effectively handle.

 

When your trailer is hooked up, look at the bump stops on level ground and see how much clearance you have. Mine has only 1 inch clearance when fully loaded. I ordered the Firestone Ride Rites after reading all the info. on TW. If your trailer has only 300 lbs tongue weight and it's not huge, I'm thinking you'll be ok.

 

Same problem, but the tonge weight on my trailer 5X10ft. is less than 200lbs.

Yes, it is barely nose high, perhaps 1/4inch higher in the front. Yes, I do mean Tongue weight- total weight of the trailer dry is about 2200lbs..and probably close to 3000lb once wet and loaded- Is once inch of sag that bad? I towed it from where I store it back to my house a couple of days ago and it seems to be fine- I just wanted to see if it is common for such a load to sag the rear 1 inch...and if that was a big deal. thanks for input!

my TT is about the same weight as yours. All I have in the back is the AALs (for now). It does the trick
