No I don’t. I think I would need a new handgun to do it. I own a Kimber Crimson Carry 45 and a Ruger LCP .380.
Neither would really be good enough for anything beyond point blank range.

One of these days I’d like to try it.

If he makes a mistake and comes out during daylight, I'll still take this battled buck!

I can tell the rut is on here as the doe's that are typically seen are gone, They usually pop out in the fields close to dark but now they are only on camera after dark. I havent pulled one of my camera cards in a while so Im curious to see whats on it.

No gun season for me this year. Land owner has people with campers and 4 wheelers on the property. My fault for waiting so long :(

Said I can come back next weekend and bow hunt rest of the year. Then, next year, gun season is all mine.

The important thing, who the hell decides riding in the woods of eastern KY during gun season is a good idea?! o_O :annoyed:

They went full blown rut about a week and a half ago.
Saw a lot of nice, big bucks in my archery spot all season, but nothing in the magic circle except a resident doe and her twin skippers.
I leave them alone and they know it.

That yankee that sat with me friday mornin wanted a big steak (and his wife said she would take a small one) so we butterflied some of that fresh back strap up and seared it up for em. When i cut the chunk of back strap off he said he was thinkin thats a pretty small piece if he is cutting two steaks from it, but he said after it was layed open he changed his mind haha

    Nice!
    Done right!
Going to have some strap tonight.
I cut them into medallions. Heat them up in a pan with butter ,sear one side, flip, and right before they're done, throw a good shot of real maple syrup un the pan and let it burn off.

Nice that maple syrup caramelize nice and add just a little sweetness? I litterally ran mine thru about 1 part coke and 1 part dale's and a healthy shoth of brown mustard while the skillet was getting hot, then patted them dry. I was out of olive oil so i threw some bacon grease in the skillet and let em go a min and a half per side. Butter on the flip and then i stuck em on broil till the oven got to temp (put em in a cold oven and turn the broiler on and when it dinged 500° i took em out) i normally just sear them but i they were a touch under rare after the sear; they came out of salred ice and they are usually room temp when i cook em so maybe that had something to do with it.
