I would call this step "phase 1", replacing the speakers and sound dampening the doors. Phase 2, I would add something like the Audio Control LC7i and a 4-5 channel amplifer. The LC7i would eliminate the factory HU bass roll off that's programed in and between that and the extra power the door speakers should really come alive.

I got the whole package(tweeter/6X9's,6x5's)about 2-3 weeks ago but I have decided to go a different route and the tweeters and 6x9's will be posted for sale, the 6x9's 3 way were never installed

That's a cool upgrade plan. Where does one mount the LC7i and amp in our Tacoma?

Under the front seats, mounted to the back wall where the bins are or inside one of the floor bins under the back seats.

Picked up some very nice Infinity speakers from Crutchfield, more than 50% off w/ holidiscount + scratch/dent rebate.
...along with the usual Crutchfield adapter & wiring freebies. First time ordering from Crutchfield since the 90s; the prices and service still cannot be beat. I recall Crutchfield catalogs from the 80s, when my buddy was building a killer VW bug (stock bug, amazing sound system.)

I'll be watching eBay for the Subaru Kicker Tweeter, getting some Noico next week, and doing the install soon.

This is taking me back to my first upgraded stereo experiences: a Craig 8-Track in our 1972 Ford Country Squire station wagon, and the Clarion head unit, underdash graphic EQ, rear SONY 6x9's & front door panel Panasonic 3.5's I installed in a hand-me-down 1978 Chevy Impala "detective special". Pretty much same "old man tan" color as the new Taco.

Jumped on that deal as well! I was at a sound shop yesterday and the guy tried to steer me away from Infinitys for some reason...said those front speakers would be too 'harsh'. Not sure what that means but...reviews on them seem to be very positive.

Be sure to post back when you get it installed, maybe a sound clip too. I wont be able to install and review them until Christmas....sadly.

Got my install done today. Thanks for all the pics and advice (@tacotunesJosh youtube videos on door panel removal came in handy as well). I did a 60-70% coverage with the Noico of the outer door panel. Initial impressions are very favorable over the stock (absolutely worthless) speakers. I'm going to mess with it tomorrow to get it dialed in.

    Things I wasn't impressed with:
The Metra speaker adaptors did not line up very well. The rear adaptors needed the inner mounting hole brackets snapped off for the 6 3/4" speaker to fit.

Was the sale of ********* over? I don't see it on their site. Also which specific size did you get?

The ********* sale may have only been for one day. When I was on their website, a modal window popped up with the discount they were running.

For the Infinity Reference REF-275tx, Crutchfield says it has a cutout diameter of 1 5/8, so I ordered the 1.625 diameter tweeter mount from *********.

I think the rear speakers are now out of stock. I checked today to see if they had any Cyber Monday deals that were better than Black Friday, but the deals are the same for the Infinity speakers.

If you google search those tweeters, they are $5 cheaper on Amazon right now ($45)

Saw that, I wouldn't be installing anytime soon so it would be fine if I had to wait.

Getting ready to purchase the speakers, I don't have the JBL, but have entune/nav. It's asking which screen size I have, 6" or 7". Does it matter?

I don't think it matters but if you have the entune premium + nav it's probably the 7" screen.
