I recently saw a video on you tube of a guy taking his flares off and putting screws in the body holes for the flares. I could possibly see someone talking them off and filling the holes. And painting the truck but why and the hell would someone wanna half ass it like that? From what I gathered it must be a lot of people doing it. But to me it takes away from the truck and makes it look like crap. Thoughts?

Why do people cover themselves in ink?

Can't they imagine what they are going to look like in the nursing home, all wrinkled and saggy?

    Same idea. Personal choice.

Exactly. Might seem cool at the moment, but 50 years from now, not so much

I could see doing this if you also cut the fenders up higher for clearance. But just taking them off wouldn’t have any benefit that I can see.

Meh, i dont think it looks THAT bad.

I would like a set of 5 lug fenders that don't have flares at all. But I don't think they make em for a short bed.

EBay fakes. Which I am glad I went with now that a local high clearance Pelfreybilt became available and I have to cut them anyways.

    Nice hate thread

I like the way mine looks. Removing the flares had never occurred to me until a trail ripped one off for me. Toyota wants $460 for the one flare I ripped off. Not happening. I'm not spending $600 for bushwhackers either. I have skinny 33" tires, so the tires are still in the wheel well.

I get compliments on my truck frequently. It looks good.
