Why? I agree with the guys who say it looks like a Prius or Aztec at a glance, so if that's the look you're goin' for, go for it! I'm not.

Secondly, it seems to be a taint to me. Taint a tonneau cover, and taint a topper. Wasted space, ugly style, I'll pass.

While its simply another option, its a compromise between a shell and a tonneau.
Personally, I have NEED for a full shell.so. I'll pass on the Tonell.....
    Or the Shenneau.....
    Or.....

Driving on Thanksgiving we came up behind a Ridgeline, the wife was pretty verbal about how it looked bad, can't imagine what she would say if I put this in my truck.

I'd buy one before I'd buy a tonneau cover. Which means basically no!

Did the original hummer back pop open? I never quite understood why it was designed that way.

Yes, there's a hatch, and that's just the armored HMMWVs, the soft skin one had a tiny little bed instead and all fabric coverings.

I’m thinking it could have possibly been made that way to reduced the “roof departure angle” (just made that term up) for when it exited down the ramp of a C130 or something smaller (Chinook?). Keep the top of the back of the hummer from hitting the roof of the plane. Maybe. I dunno. I doubt the military cared how it looked, which is why the hummer was so ugly.
