It's a mead, not beer. It's delicious. Very very sweet. Definitely a bottle to be shared

The most I'll have is 6 beers, although sometimes some of them are 12% alcohol or so, but if it's those, I have a small glass.

Nope. I'm 47 and have no issues. First thing I would check is your hydration level. Dehydration and alcohol is a bad mix

You'll be fine. Most home brewers let their beers sit for 30+ days.

That doesn't seem that bad but if you're mixing a bunch of different types maybe that's contributing to it.

I got my first-ever hangover around that age. You're no longer a spring chicken. If you must drink, you need to hydrate at the same time. Powerade Zero is my go-to hangover preventive. I make sure to drink at least half a bottle before going to bed and I keep the bottle beside me to sip on during the night. Take a swig or two between beers also. Got to keep those electrolytes in your system.

OK. For the longest time I have wanted to make a Cascade style (Lactic) sour.

    The journey begins today.
I found a Rare Barrel Porter recipe to use as a base, I am making 10G, which will age in a plastic malt container where I will add wood and fruit.

So its a sach primary ferment and the second gets innoculated. I will use Cascade to innoculate it.

    18.5 lbs Avanguard German Pils
    3 lbs German Wheat
    1 lb Belgian Aromatic
    1 lb Flaked Oats
1 lb Simpsons Medium Crystal (65L)
    1 lb Belgian Chocolate Malt
1 lb German Chocoalte Wheat (Spalt substitute)
4 oz German Dehusked Carafa 2

    .25 oz Perle 2% 60:00

The recipes calls for spalt, which wasnt available I was told wheat would work, and I figured some more chocolate wouldnt hurt the style, so I chose German Chocolate Wheat instead of other wheats. Spalt wasnt available at my brew shop, they say get asked about it once a year.

Stressful day. So I stopped by my local (didn't know there was one!) Mr. B's and grabbed something that apparently rarely comes to Colorado. Other things, too. But this one stood out.

Nice! From our neck of the woods. Good to see it there. If you can get Kiwi Rising, get it. Worth a try.

Not bad...very spicy which overpowered the rest of the intended flavor. Stick with Stone's Xocoveza.
