Love it! Few questions:

-Does the Tactrix you provided with the kit allow Bluetooth communications? If not will there be an additional component we must purchase?
-the app, assume you’ll have iOS and Android versions or are Apple folks SOL given the App Store hoops for iOS?
-What is the refresh rate and volume of PIDs/second? Ask this because I know using my OBD2 reader it seems to max out at 7 PIDs / second even though the app I use for logging (OBD Fusion) has options for as fast as 50ms refresh rates.
-How do you intend to use the logger? For us to take specific logs as the tune continues to mature so you can properly dial things in custom for the trucks at scale, easily I hope?
-...and of course, this data junkie is more than willing to help test as needed!

Been following for awhile now. Just placed my pre-order. Looking forward to this when I return home!

 

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get your product after you pay? Its been longer than I am comfortable with considering the price of these things and the OvTune guy has not responded to me about it. These are legit right?

 

Yes, legit but like many of the small companies that make stuff for the Tacos it’s a small operation so lead times are unpredictable. He’s solid as they come though, hang in there

100% legit. Stock has been limited and when it is available has sold out quickly. There is a $1 refundable waiting list for pre-orders now though.

 

If you ordered from the two November batches, he said he'd be shipping them the week after Thanksgiving.

 

I spent $160 and received a refurbished General Dynamics GD8000 running Windows 7 Pro. You can still upgrade to Windows 10 if you use the "using for Assistive Technologies" windows webpage. This will end Dec 31 2017. You can find plenty of notebooks for less if your looking to stay at the $100 price point.

I feel like overall it was a good investment for what I got. The notebook is water and shock resistant and didn't break the bank. There are many options out there and quite a few less expensive options as well.

i'm close to your setup, but with 33's (286/70/17). a lot of weight. I also have 4.56s which to me was the biggest difference in getting a return in power feeling. I'll caveat with the fact it was done well before the tune. The tune cleaned up all the shifting issues and I did see a 2-3 MPG improvement. Hard to tell since I don't have a calibrated speedo, but I did have to drive conservatively to get there. If I mob around, there isn't any improvement, but the response has been much, much better. I'm a happy camper with the tune.

 

Wanted to know where you found 4.56 gears at? All I have ever seen is the 4.88. That seems like a big change if not paired with really big tires. And people post different stories about getting tires to fit without issues.. Also I read in one of the threads someone commenting that there is no posi available for the rear differential. Sounded stupid to me... Max
