This is what I've used since I was a kid. But I think the main thing is to get something on them.

Vaseline is a petroleum based jelly. Leather doesn't like that. Not sure what Huberds base is, but it is pretty waxy. Warm up the boots, warm up the can (slowly). I use an old sock or t-shirt to apply it. I've used Sno-Seal but dad always insisted on Huberds so it just became the go-to.

I've had boots rebuilt but not in the last 20 years. It's kind of a lost art locally. The cost to rebuild v. the time they last afterward just didn't set well with me so anymore I just buy new. And, since work buys my work boots (steel toes), I get a new pair every 6 months so the boots I buy last a few years since I'm usually at work.

    Good to know.
I used to get boots paid for but also didn’t make much then either. It’s all a give and take. I’ll try a more wax based product this time. Usually didn’t use much but clean them because they didn’t last long. I’m hard on boots and my feet knees and back are all fkd up so it’s worth 300$ for a pair. That’s why I spent my coupon to get 60$ off.

Hello all. Spent the afternoon at a memorial for my friends kid, gave a speech in front of about 250 people. The kid was amazing. Back home now, ready to sleep.
Always used nikwax on the hiking boots

Yeah I made a run into Danner to pick up a pair of nmt Corvallis boots for work. I hate spending $$ on work anymore.

X2. Used for years on all of my leather boots.

Hate appliances. I get to cut up cabinets tomorrow and install a new range. The other 1/2 thinks it's a 1/2 hr job. Not a clue.

A couple weeks ago when I went for my yearly physical, Doc asked me if I got up at night. I said nope and he thought I was full of shit.
Not taking any pills for anything either.
He says that is getting to be a rarity for guys in my age bracket.
